I'm not happy about this. He was our best striker pre-season and every bit as good as Ayew. However, despite having no strikers, we still didn't use him. Anyone honestly going to say Sorloth is better? Wickham has looked like he will never get back to fitness and Ayew does not seem to be a striker, yet we get rid of Kaikai for nothing. If we had used him and it had or hadn't worked out - what would we have lost? Couldn't be any worse than what we have used.

You fall into the trap of imagining that football might be based on sound logic.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

In one of the more ridiculous and incredulous moments of the Parish reign, this was the reason given as to why we signed Erdal Rakip.

Apparently we signed Erdal Rakip, spending hundreds of thousands if not millions, to make up the numbers in training.

Re signings be careful what you wish for with Freedman and Parish. You could get Sorloth, Rakip and Jach mark 2.

We need signings yes, but we need the right signings, and we need to consign p*ss poor panic buy sh**e signings to the history books.

I thought Rakip was a loan?

I quite liked him (Kai Kai), but he seemed very lightweight. I watched him Vs Bristol away (nobody particulary covered themselves in glory that night!) and he was very easily muscled out of the game.

I have every respect for him going abroad, he had a couple of semi-successful loan moves whilst with us which shows he wants to play and I hope it works out for him.
Good move all round at this point, wouldn't be surprised if he does come good over there. Hopefully there's some kind of buy-back trap door but I doubt it given our ridiculous record of mishandling transfers.

Yes he was signed on loan.

It costs money to do that.

Not looking too lightweight here, check out this gut:

Does it in every case? Did it in this case?

I agree it was absurd either way. If we actually paid money for the privilege then that's criminal.

If there is no one time fee per se, we are at least on the hook for his wages.

Frankly forking out 20 quid and a packet of skips on Erdal Rakip to make up the numbers in training is a rip off.

Yes, but then again Mutch looked like Figo in a lot of those games...

Looks like they're using the window to ship out the deadwood.

Quite a few managers haven't fancied him to be fair. Might as well get the wage bill down a bit.
