I have no idea what the club does with the Council on a regular basis. I hope this is an extension of a broader initiative.

I love to see us doing innovative stuff. It may or may not work. Perhaps it will build to something bigger

In any case I hope we keep doing good and breaking new ground.

Not enough cocks in Croydon to turn that pipe dream into reality

Obviously this is open to abuse, however as long as the club protects itself this is something that all Premier league clubs should be doing.

Well done to Crystal Palace for being the trailblazer for a much needed social programme to support those most in need.

I know clubs already do a lot of positive work however this kind of thing should really have happened a long time ago.

They just have to be careful though as once you start offering a free lunch it doesn't take long before people expect more and more.

Just a thought, if the numbers increase say to 100, will they then turn around & demand to be moved to a better lounge?

Just asking like.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I hope we don't undo this good work by making these guys watch a match.

Pretty ridiculous comment.

Although we actually do quite well in comparison to all other ‘local’ clubs (Premiership for numerous seasons, big name players etc.) I’ve always felt very much a part of Crystal Palace FC, as a local, in a way I’m guessing most United, City, Liverpool, Chelsea fans cannot, being ‘tourist clubs’ IMO.

Gestures like this make me feel even prouder and I would suggest strengthens the morale amongst us supporters as a community.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Apparently they’re happy with the lounge, but they want to sleep in the middle, not on the sides.

It's not a long term solution to a problem and presumably is only offered in extreme wintry conditions? Given the limited accommodation available, referrals must be coordinated centrally by the council or specialised charities rather than an open door at the stadium ... but nevertheless, it's a decent thing to do.

Will these homeless be from Liverpool, because if they are, we usually give them more financial help behind the scenes.
