JR will suit a slower, more pedestrian game. He played well v Man City but that was more like a training drill player in one third of the pitch.

Gibberish! Anyway. Sell. May as well. We can’t afford players of his value not even on the bench. Edited by Rudi Hedman (15 Jan 2019 10.22am) It’s a message board Rudz Yes. Sell. Reinvest. Unless he can he play in goal.

I sensed this thread would slip down the message boards pretty fast. Apart from mega expensive for us Sakho and RLC on loan, what a bad period of transfer activity that summer the next January and the January before really were. The recent summer was an improvement but we can’t afford these kind of fluffs when we’ve spent £30 mil on others, but I suppose that’s what we’ve done. £25mil to £30 mil each on Benteke and Sakho and then probably £12 mil each average on Sørloth and Riedewald when you add on the survival lumps of money add one for Sørloth.

The way Hodgson operates he only seems to trust a core of around 15 players and Jairo clearly isn’t one of them.

Feel sorry for JR, I always thought he looked decent and didn't seem to give the ball away cheaply. If he goes our coverage in midfield is very thin.

I guarantee you he will go on to have a long and successful career somewhere else because Ajax is a good academy. Not a Roy Hodgson player, but how long will Roy last after this season anyway? Parish sold Murray because a certain manager sanctioned it, but alas, he is not playing, and we have a wage issue.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

He looked neat and tidy on the ball, but that's it. Probably a better passer than either Luka or Kouyate but lacks the presence of either (in my opinion). I certainly haven't seen anything from him that suggests he should get the nod over any of our regulars and perhaps he just wants to leave and play football? This may be one that Roy was talking about when he said he won't stand in the way of squad players if they want to go and find football elsewhere. If it means we can bring in someone who can make an impact from the bench or even challenge for a start then for me that would be a good thing as Riedewald either isn't good enough to do that, or Roy & Ray don't have confidence that he can.
