Much of the blame this season lies with Hodgson.
One win in ten is representative of where we are and you can’t keep hiding behind so called decent performances or being unlucky.
Palace were second to every ball against Brighton and Hodgson is not getting the best out of his resources.
On paper we have better players than Brighton but it looked tonight that we had ten men the way they dominated.
At 2-0 down with them down to ten men he could have gone 4-3-3 and tried to stretch them but he kept the same formation as if hoping something would change.
Not for the the first time this season he failed to make changes which were crying out to be made.
I am losing confidence in him.

Parish is the ultimate problem undoubtedly. The biggest issue with it now is I think, after the Frank de Boer debacle, he’s unlikely to ever change strategy again.

Seen a lot of Palace fans call for Dyche to come in if Roy goes. And sadly, I think that’s exact route he’ll go down. Whilst, on paper, this sounds good considering he got a pretty average team into a European spot last season. There is a reason his Burnley side are struggling this year. The brand of football has and always will hve a sell-by date. We need to stop hiring managers who play a brand of football that has a sell by date.

Dyche will be repeating the same process all over again. Will steady us up. Get us a couple of results against the big boys. We all bow down and worship him for a year. Then the sell by date passes and we need another firefighter to save us.

Sadly, next time, there will almost certainly be none left. As far as the old school English managers go, I actually think Roy is better than anything we’ve ever had by quite a distance. His record may not back this up. But in fairness, Sam & Pardew were properly backed in the transfer window & the money they spent is hardly looking like a good long-term investment at this point.

For now, I still think we should stick with Roy. We were poor tonight, but it’s easy to ignore the fact the first 2 goals were literally gifted to them by the ref.

This argument is multi-faceted.

First, it's not Roy's fault because he doesn't have the tools to do the job. The squad is thin and we know out of the 11 on the park maybe 3 have a real chance of being dropped if they under perform.

Secondly, it is Roy's fault because tonight they looked like they had no motivation. They looked like they believed their own hype from the weekend. But it's a derby game, the manager shouldn't need to motivate them but maybe he demotivated them?

Thirdly, we know we have no money to spend in January. Is Parish looking for a way out to sell the club? Is he being distracted by his new romance? It can make your priorities change.

Lastly, the scouting team has been abysmal. What does Freedman do all day? It was claimed that Max Meyer was a great signing and he may turn out to be but there was a reason clubs above us turned him down.

We'll get the usual spiel abut wages being high yet we have a keeper on £80k+ a week who is sitting on the bench. Being a free transfer he'll be on a high wage and he turned down that much in Spain so he'll be on a top wedge.

DGMW Hennessey is playing well so I wouldn't swap them around. It just seems we seem to have no direction.

Hodgson for me and has been for a while.
He seems unable to play any formation other than 4-4-2 despite not having the players to fit the formation.

His substitutes are rubbish.
Our set pieces are poor.
Once we go a goal down we won't stand a chance.

I've started to wonder if Benteke's dreadful form over the last 18 months is due to Hodgson not understanding how to play him to his strengths?

He's trying to do the same as what he did last season without Cabaye and RLC. It just won't work.

I do get the impression that supporters are rapidly losing faith in Hodgson but I suspect that this is not shared by the Board.

Can anyone see other than a defeat on Saturday at W.Ham ?

Funnily enough I said the same thing a few weeks ago but blamed it more on our training/coaching regime, the whole system these days rather than just in how Hodgson is playing him.

I hear quite a few supporters with the same opinion.
Last season's heroics are being forgotten and his mantra that we are playing well and things will turn for the better is being ridiculed by many.

Another abject performance and defeat against W.Ham and I believe the calls for Hodgson to go will get louder and louder. My belief is that the Board have every confidence in him and not even considered his position.

For me it's Parish.

He's outlasted all the managerial appointments he's made and yet we continue to struggle and it doesn't matter who the manager is.

In anything other than a football club he would be held accountable.

The buck has to stop with Parish.

If he expects his manager to get us to perform without recognized strikers, no real plan b from the bench, then who else is to blame?

Last jan was a window to invest and build upon in july. We replaced and added players, but we didn't improve the squad.

Parish may not have all the answers and why should he, but you mean to tell me people at the club are not advising him??

HE IS NOT LISTENING OR LEARNING

Parish is the main problem like so many businesses it starts at the top.

If he gave the funds to really sort out this club we are not talking hundreds of millions but some proper money so the backroom can be reshaped not by these Palace hasbeen.

We need quality coaches which cover different types of training then we need funds for some better quality players which can be recruited by setting up proper scouting this is something which is a complete joke no proper world scouting.

Roy is to blame for some things like always sticking with same players and tactics but then again maybe he doesn't have a choice due to poor squad outside the 11.

I think Roy is too nice other managers wouldn't put up with owners like this clear examples Sam and Pullis the way they walked knowing full well wouldn't get backing needed.

The whole Americans investment is a complete waste looks like the stadium stuff is not happening and what have they done for the club you dont see them using power/influence over there to get us deals for sponsors or club awareness it's complete waste panic from Parish jumping into that deal.

final thing i said this before some odd choices we pay out 9m for Sorloth with reports it could go up to 17m yet we was moaning not willing to pay out what was it 10m before for that Everton striker and Ings even Antonio from west ham who was willing to let him got for 15m.

Lots of iffy stuff going on I think Parish is using the club to filter money for his own gain

We've been unable to rectify the striking conundrum since we came up. Never have the mistakes we've made been so magnified as they were tonight when our former striker, who we sold for a paltry £4 million on the basis that he was too old, scored his 8th goal of the season against us 3 years later.

We spent big on Benteke who was supposed to be the solution but has fallen to pieces after a strong start. Otherwise we have recruited crocks, has beens and never weres.

The manager's reluctance to play Sorloth or Ayew suggests to me that, despite his Scandinavian contacts, neither were his signing and as such we are in the ludicrous position of having to play our two wingers up front until Benteke returns.

This formation is clearly diminishing Zaha's ability to run at people and it was apparent tonight that we notably improved once Sorloth came on, despite his own ineffectiveness. The reason was that with a central striking figure, the two wingers were able to adopt more natural positions.

Our transfer policy hasn't been a total disaster in recent seasons, Sakho, Tomkins, Guaita, Meyer and Van Aanholt will all, in my opinion, go on to be remembered as strong signings. However, up front we have scouted and recruited abysmally.

Frankly we're at the point now where if you could get rid of all of our strikers and replace them with four totally at random from the Championship and Europe, as you can with letters in Scrabble, I'd say we can't do much worse.

I'm not questioning Roy's position at the club for any reason other than his age and would hope that proper preparation is being put into a possible successor, whether it be this summer or the next.
