Whereas we only spent £10 Mill in pre-season, Brighton signed 10 players for just over £60 Mill.

Fulham spunked a lot of money in the window but they're still bottom. Wolves spent a lot of money too but their bubble has burst now. And does Pogba look like he's worth £90m to you?

Oh, and Meyer cost us nothing to sign but is nevertheless class.

Specious argument.

And how much do you think Zaha, Wan-Bissaka, Meyer, Tomkins, Van Aanholt, Kouyate, Sakho and Townsend are collectively worth? (Plus the rest).

For avoidance of doubt, I was merely stating the facts not advocating that greater spend necessarily equates to greater success.

You compared their spend with ours obviously implying that they had invested in their squad and we had not. Otherwise why bother "stating the facts" at all?

We won't be getting 20 plus shots against Brighton like we did against Burnley. Having said that we have hit form and don't look to have much in the way of injury's to contend with.
I also think with the quick turn around time will give Brighton less time to prepare to play us ( we are probably the only EPL team to set up with 2 wide forwards )
Won't be many chances and i think as most players have had some shooting practise against Burnley they will hopefully find the target if one comes there way against Brighton. We need to properly defend set pieces and this is a concern for me.
I am going for 1-2 Palace - Zaha and Townsend probably a conceded set piece for Brightons goal.

If we play the way we did v Man U and Burnley we should beat them. The style of our football is starting to look very special. I love us playing without a target man. It works. 0-3.

Going for a 1-0 Palace win as our defence looks solid & we'll have more chances to break on the counter. McArthur's positioning & play were good on Sat so am going for him to nick the winner. COYP

It didn't look like we had to work that hard on Saturday, so hopefully we're fresh and raring to go. I think the game coming so soon after such a positive performance is a good thing as we should have the bit between our teeth. Brighton rested Murray on Saturday which is annoying as I imagine he'll start. Aside from some brief highlights I haven't seen much of Brighton (intentionally) so I have no idea whether they're worthy of their position, but if we play like in our last two games we could give anyone a very tough game. I'm going 2-1 to the Palace with Wilf and Tomkins serving up the three points, Murray with a consolation.

There have been mutterings on here about what our supporters see as under-investment in pre-season so all I was doing was comparing our transfer spend in contrast to that of our deadly rivals.I was most certainly stating the facts by providing figures.
