Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Saw this earlier, it's terrible.

Does anyone know if he was suffering from anything or was it sudden ?

So sad & so young. I actually used to sponsor him in the 82/83 season found him to be humble eager & a right cnut on the pitch. Meeting him after games in the Players Lounge was never a prob to him.

RIP Darren.

Not the most elegant of players but a committed and aggressive midfield stopper. Had a good, fighting attitude on the field.

RIP fella.

Bloody hell younger than me.

Always liked him as a player as he was one of those players that just got on and did it. No fuss no drama.

You only realised after just how steady his contributions were and how they impacted on a game.

Was integral to our team when he was with us.

God bless and thank you for making memories

Scored one of the greatest goals I remember seeing at the time against Wolves in the FA Cup. Condolences to his family.

Shocked by this no age, loved it when we signed him as it annoyed a Charlton supporter l worked with at the time
