I'm having a look at doing Muey Thai. Came across someone I know who does it,he loves it,it's Thai boxing for those wondering. Went and met an instructor thee other day and had a chat. £11 a lesson also which is very good also.

I did Wing Chun at this school for three years and really enjoyed it - it's in Beckenham. Training was very hard and I initially joined for the same reason as you: I joined this place in South Croydon for a few months but packed it in as I've got two young kids and no time to train properly. There's was nothing wrong with the school - just the wrong time for me. Both comparable to gym membership prices but with martial arts you get what you pay for. Cheap instructors aren't usually very good. wang chung, very popular in the 80's.

Muay Thai ? I've had a rethink and I think I'll do Wing Chun. If I was younger I'd do Muey Thai.

I tried Muay Thai for a single extremely intensive lesson back in 1990 when I was a student in London. All my joints and muscles were aching immensely the following morning and for a week onwards.I decided not to take it further from then on. Ive never told my old man who was an amateur boxer back in the day and very tough (still is)

Anyone know any decent martial clubs in and around the Croydon area at an affordable price? Was thinking of taking up Taekwondo but was wondering if anyone else could help. I've become bored of the gym and want to learn a martial art and stay fit at the same time. Thanks guys and gals. tae kwon do is excellent. One of a handful of 'destructive' martial arts. It disciplines the mind, as well as the body. "way of the hand and foot" it is probably not a lot of good in a knife confrontation, but your body will be in the peak of condition to make an orderly retreat. Hope you find somewhere.
I disengage, I turn the page. |
