The whole concept of Blazing Saddles would be pilloried in today's society though as the whole p1sstake was based on a black sheriff in a racist red neck town. In it's day though I found it hilarious enough to go and see it twice at the cinema. Wasn't it Reach for the Sky that had to have Bader's dog's name dubbed in later years as it was called the n word. If you are including small screen then Till Death Us Do Part should get an honourable mention

Also, when the sheriff is greeting the old lady who replies "up yours, n.." The dog's name was dubbed over in TV showings of The Dam Busters.

The dog's name was dubbed over in TV showings of The Dam Busters. I think I saw it about a year ago on TV and they out the original dog name back in. Incidentally, that dog was our family dog. It was one of my dad's films and they used our dog. Before I was born though. The dogs real name was Blackie. I think my older brother still has photos from the set and maybe a couple of original scripts with written notes.

Song of the South. As I kid I loved Brer Rabbit the cartoon portions of the film are great. Disney won't even release it on DVD because of the live action sequences. It's a pity they could re-edit it. All of the Carry On movies. Some of the Tom and Jerry cartoons are banned pick your reason as to why? Colour, offensive to large people, cruelty to animals, violence in children's programmes etc. They'll be going after Scooby Doo next. Dumbo (because of the crows) hang on they are remaking that so let's see how that scene plays. Birth of Nation this is in the AFI most important films list it was made just after the WW1. The Klan are the heroes of the movie I kid you not, unbelievably racist. That's enough for now. They are actually working on a 'Reboot' I guarantee you both Tom & Jerry will have a PC makeover & there will certainly be no Black housemaid who used to chase Jerry around the place with a broom. Dukes of Hazard .,,....
