No, I came to the conclusion that I wanted us to leave long before the referendum was even considered. Who lied to me? Or did I lie to myself?

It's patronising in the extreme to assume that, just because some people actually disagree with you, they must have been 'misinformed' or 'lied to'.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I didn't vote leave because of any 'lies'.

That narrative is not accurate and it suggests that the Remain campaign was truthful.

Tell me you don't actually believe that

I don't know why the people who lost cannot grasp that most people made their minds up many years before the referendum or any of the pointless campaigning from either side.

My thoughts exactly.

I made my mind up after Aaron Banks and his dodgy money got involved. True I had never heard of him until a couple of months ago rather like the gay guy who reported his ex boyfriend to the Electoral Commission I hadn't heard of them either. Still that's not the point we should re-run it.

Or maybe I did make my mind up many years ago and nothing that was said in the campaign made a blind bit of difference. Rather like this thread i think we all know our postions.

One more point

This thread is bonkers should be on the Brexit thread.

The subject, European free speech, was about some nazi krautess calling Mohammed a paedophile.

Still she may have made up her mind to leave the EU before the vote.........

A tin of pineapple rings is on its way...…..

This was one of the topics on Jeremy Vine's R2 show this afternoon. They were trying to liken it to Ben Johnson winning the 100 m final (nice current reference to work with) and because he cheated it should go to 2nd place, as it did with Carl Lewis. Bizarre logic.

Of the people who phoned in it's funny how all the remain voters all seem to speak to people who voted leave that want to change their mind. I've not met any who want to do so, on either side, but I've heard plenty of people say they no longer care either way and just want the pissing in the wind over with.

A bit like they do with the alleged demographics of each type of voter. I don't recall anyone being asked their wealth or level of education when casting their vote.
