It is and should always be personal choice. It does seem odd that everyone on TV decides to wear one. McClean probably is a bit of a **** but not for his decision on wearing a poppy.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Jon Snow doesn't. He does on remembrance day in a personal capacity but won't allow himself to be forced to by some TV producer. McClean not wearing one is not news anymore.

As others have said... His decision... I actually wish that every November we don't give him airtime... In my opinion he's an average footballer and most probably a closet IRA supporter...
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Would go along with the sentiment to respect his right not to wear it.Pathetic singling him out every year. No one should be forced to make any statement or wear anything other than a standard uniform if that’s what your job involves. Quite rightly we wouldn’t force a Muslim to wear a cross against their will. He’s not complained about other people wearing them just exercised his right to choose not to. Out of interest what exactly does the poppy stand for? Is it just fallen British soldiers, all fallen soldiers from all sides or fallen soldiers and civilians in times of war?
