Funnily enough Stuk I managed to piss off a couple of McGregor supporters yesterday by saying that I used to drink with guys in my local who would beat their guy easily, go back in for a pint & an hour later beat the other guy before heading for a curry then home without a scratch on them !!

Na....the fighting is meant to be in the ring not in the crowd.

This caused fights in the crowd and that means innocent people can get caught up.....This kind of thing damages the sport and means you can't bring your bird and so on...Bad for business...Germany have a completely different culture at their boxing events and have restaurant tables around big fights....the idea of a fighter spilling their grievances outside into the crowd are completely out of order.

This guy will have the book thrown at him and he completely deserves it. The team members who jumped into the ring to attack McGregor will be banned....they can find another way to make a living.

There is a line and this was way over it.

He won't - he'll get a token fine and short ban at worst and be back for a big money re-match in the next 6-months. The UFC stands to make too much $ from this circus and won't shoot themselves in the foot with ott disciplinary.

That said, if they don't want their fighters behaving like that they need to do their promoting very differently, not stoking the fire to (over) boiling point like what happened at the weekend and having a code of conduct in place to stop the likes of Conor McG and his team's offensive and overly-personal gutter talk. Classy athletes don't do that.

Seen that they have both received 10-day suspensions from UFC. Not sure if the NAC can impose a further ban but that would only apply to Nevada, so not that big a deal.

I think there should be some lines drawn for where fighters can go. Mock beefs - yes the likes of Wilder and Fury's one was more pantomime and very funny. But genuinely trying to be as offensive as possible to your opponent in my opinion does more harm to the UFC brand than a post-fight scrap (although undoubtedly one led to the other). It's why I really hate the likes of McGregor, Mayweather and those who go down that route to sell a fight or get themselves in the news.

I just don't think you have to behave like that to get yourself heard. A code of conduct and disciplinary for breaking it might help. There's nothing wrong with telling your opponent you're gonna smash their head in. But getting personal about their family, religion, country of birth is a bit much. It's less about the recipient of the abuse being able to handle it, it's just so unclassy and makes it look like the sport if full of scum - moreso than a bloke getting a slap for mouthing off. There's not much wrong (or unexpected) with the latter in my opinion - everyone has a limit.

I don't think it does any harm to encourage people to be decent human beings.

Do what you like on your own time, but while you're representing X company, these are our values that you must uphold. Most places of work have this in some sort of contract form. I see this as especially important in sport where the stars are role models. Otherwise it only encourages more people to be cnuts - and there are enough of them already.

Comparing keeping sports stars' behaviour in check to China's nutty communist system is a but much. You must hate the Hol forum rules, which condone harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, hateful or racially, ethnically, sexually or otherwise objectionable posts (just about covers off all of Conor McGregor's insults towards Khabib).
