Given that we're not creating the chances, the service does not suit the forward and the ones we do create are low quality, all unlike last season, I have my doubts. No analytic bod out there would be confident in us doing so

Good business eh,Steve????? ... don't forget we had Bumford at the time as well. It was thought we had sufficient proven quality up front and that Glenn would not get a look in. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but we backed the wrong horses ... simple as that. Edited by Henry of Peckham (06 Oct 2018 7.13am)

I seem to recall that at the time most people on the forum were pleased to see us sign Wickham thinking him an excellent replacement for Murray who we all thought would never be the same player after his serious injury but as you say none of us had the benefit of hindsight

I think us fans are all missing the point, it does not matter who we have up front if you don’t play to there strengths or provide them service they won’t score goals. You all harp on about Benteke but look how he performed under fat Sam I wonder why as he plays to a target mans strength. You don’t become a bad player over night and prior to last season & so far this season Benteke has been scoring goals. Sørloth I agree is not good enough and Ayew just looks like another Fraser Campbell. Since Benteke has been out we have been so woeful going forward at least with Benteke he wins headers holds up the ball and creates space for Zaha etc. It’s the same at Chelsea they all say Morata is not good enough but he has done it everywhere else, Shevchenko another on sometimes it is down to the team and the system you play. Can you seriously see Murray scoring for palace like he is for Brighton no chance as we don’t play to his strengths everything Brighton does goes through Murray everything we do it goes through Zaha. Maybe we should get of there backs and support

Yes, in hindsight, it was a bad decision but at the time it seemed right, especially for the fee. Why people on here get p***ed off is that every time Muzza scores we churn out the same old threads. We have to move on.

The goals need to start flowing TODAY . Last season we didnt score a goal until the 17th of october our win at home against chelski, Giving the other beatable teams the nop fear factor means that teams below us could easily swap places in the coming weeks. COYP

I disagree. I think Blunteke is bad at holding the ball up. His control on the ground is not good and very rarely does the ball stick to him so that he can bring others into play
