This is Crystal Palace we never do things the easy way, I think you can change the playing staff and the manager but we will do the same thing, its called the palace way.

I have been a fan for 40 years and its always been like that.

it looks like being another long hard winter, with the aim to finish in the top 17.
although there are probably more than 3 teams worse than us,but we must stop throwing points away.

don't think anyone can say that this season is a relegation battle and akin to previous seasons where we've struggled. Things aren't great there's no doubt about that but we have some new players that we're still working out how to get the best out of and a striker situation that we still haven't sorted out. The latter annoys me a bit, but I'm not overly worried this early in the season as I think we'll work out a way to get the best out of the players and have a steady season.

I think the progress is that in this turn in the PL we've managed to stay up whereas in previous years' campaigns we haven't lasted more than a season or two.

Things need to improve on the pitch but I think we have the players to have a better season than the last one.

Good point.

LOL - This. I've been a fan for 50 years and its the Palace rollercoaster.

We have made progress, but in the Lodsa money league unless you're spending ungoldly amounts you start to go backward.

It would be nice to have a season or 2 looking up rather than down but hey its Palace

I think there's a law of diminishing returns when it comes to being a PL football club. Our spend is broadly commensurate with our status. Are we finding gems though? Perhaps not.

this league gets stronger year on year

all we do is play keeping up with the jones’

that is all we can do unless we get brought out by some billionaire

i genuinally do know what people expect

We seem to make a lot of costly individual errors but - no one can legislate for a £30m striker suddenly not scoring for the thick end of a year albeit he should have been outed regardless of the loss.
With a decent Centre Forward we would be in this pickle.
We are bemoaning Ward and Sakho missing gilt edged chances but in reality we are having a go at two defenders missing the target - where were our forwards and midfielders is what bothers me more!
Another worry is the purchase/loans of Ayew, Koyoute and the like - middle of the road players who won't make us better.
They take the place of Cabaye and RLC - no contest in that they are inferior players.
I accept they are better than the Puncheons of this world butI would prefer to bring youth through to be honest and have a proper spend up on fewer players.
As someone else posted yesterday we are going down again - it is just a question of which season - true - unless we get a couple of better players in and soon and I hate to say it but we need to sell Wilf to do it.
Last night showed that the lesser teams will crowd him out now and so he is less effective and suddenly we can't rely on him and there is no Plan B. If he is marked by two then don't give him the ball I guess - use it elsewhere.
Against the better teams he will get more space hopefully.
We should get out of it this time but January will be very important for us and the Summer even more so.
Still - it's going to be another hard season - it's never dull with CPFC!

Meyer can fit into the role of Cabaye. Think we tried very hard to get RLC back on loan from Chelski but they didn't budge. Think we will try again in Jan. The striker position is really hitting us hard though. The likes of Bournemouth and Watford have scored double our amount of goals whilst our defence has been better and equal. In the transfer market you need to spend £20 million plus nowadays to get anybody who looks capable of bagging goals in this league.

Seriously, look at us 5 years ago and look at us now. We have made progress, but then so has everyone else, except for those who haven’t, like Sunderland.

We might do a Burnley one year, but I am going to savour the days when we are fighting relegation from the Premier League. We will be fighting to stay in the Championship soon enough.
