I may be in the minority but I say to get the push after 4 games was unfair particularly in his last game away to Burnley we were starting to get it together, were the dominant team and did everything but score (does that ring a bell this season?) We gifted them the winning goal. I would have liked him to have been given more time - his system needed practice and who is to say it would not have come good?

As I have stated before, no manager gets relieved of his duties after 4 games on results alone.

Furthermore, perhaps the decision to sack FDB was made before the Burnley game and that even if we had won he would have been shown the door.

in all honesty, the burnley away game, we were tremendous, play lovely football and should've won but lost 1-0.

I don't think he was just sacked due to results, I think his arrogance with certain players was too much for the group to accept.

rumours of showing ward and someone else up from what I remember...

Agreed...Chung Young lee and Scott Dann cost him his job as a result. had we won that it would've given us a massive boost and confidence that what he was trying was starting to pay off....such are teh fine margins.

Good points. You don't sack a manager after 4 league games just on performances

This maybe true, BUT, we(HOL) still agree/disagree argue, vent our spleens, fall out with each other everytime a game is on.

So, normal meltdown starts at 19.00hrs tonight.

Let the meltdown commence.

Will make the match thread an interesting and angry read on my short train journey home. And that's just the first page when the team is announced...

I personally think his take will be interesting on where we’re currently at.

Treated poorly?! Do me a favour. The man played Luka at centre half pre-season and then dropped him. That huddersfield game was a disgrace, as was Swansea. If you're cr@p at your job you need to go. End of.

And Andros at RWB pre-season, then dropped for Ward in the first game

Hmm, treated poorly you say

In my job, when someone has an unsuccessful probationary period we deal with it. It is not in anyone's interests to keep persevering with mis-hires.

And when someone willfully refuses to listen to their boss and to adjust to their own underperformance, what you gonna do?

Spot on

Almost as out of his depth as a pundit as he was as our manager. He's really struggling. 1 in a 100,000 long shots goes in.....

No bl**dy doubt that Board stuffed up seriously regarding appointment of De Boer and there are shades of all of this coming back to haunt interns of retribution comment? What is telling is where is he now? Would rather have Warnock co-commentate.

No manager at the end of the day is as good at most as last 5 results.

Palace to grind out precious away draw?

He handled the responsibility poorly and would’ve shrugged his shoulders if he took us down, which was looking likely with his revolution rather than the quoted ‘gradual change.’

His ability as a defender is without doubt, but that, his arrogance towards several things became a dangerous mix.

Who does he manage now? Nobody? I wonder why. No concept of the the actual job he’s in and its requirements.
