Deeney has done us a favour. I am fed up with other fans claiming that Wilf dives and whinges about being targeted. Thanks Troy you have just confirmed to the FA that it is not in Wilf imagination. Hopefulyl referees and the FA will not take note.

..

Hey I can dream can't I

And hopefully this gives the pundits something to chew on.. everyone of them saying he should just suck it up. Can imagine he should get a bit more respect from all round, now it’s out that teams rotate fouls on him so they can kick lumps out of him.

All part of the game my hair ass it is!

Either way the FA should look at this and advise refs. To clamp down when teams are obviously employing this tactic...

Indeed!

I saw him and wilf talking like old mates after the watford home game last season leaving the pitch, might be him ingratiating himself with the fans before his january switch..to selhurst!.

I think it was fair play to Deeney, all he has done is tell the truth as did Robbie Savage. Its part of the game. I'd rather not see him punished for it.
There are many, many ways to win a game of football and unfortunately scumbag tactics are part of it.
Refs need to take action on the pitch and the FA have to do more off it.
The rule that doesn't allow for retrospective action for a horrific tackle that resulted in only a yellow card is appalling, I don't give a monkeys if that undermines a ref.
We need VAR.

I can’t agree with this. It is out and out cheating. Wilf is going to get his career finished one day as are other players.

Yes, we all know it goes on, however this is bad to admit such blatant disgraceful vindictive behaviour. It is 2018 on a football pitch not a Thai Boxing ring.

Its always been part of the game and always will be. From Sunday morning football to the premiership, you do what you can to stop the opposing teams best player. Especially if the team are so s**t without him. What do you expect them to do, stand off and watch him run rings round you. I was a forward in my playing days and had the s**t kicked out of me every game , when i had the ball and when i didnt. As well as verbal intimidation. The first tackle was the worse, just to let you know they 'were there' and you never get booked that early in thd game. Sad but true, you just have to live with it and not show that it bothers you. You certainly don't whinge about it, otherwise you'd get crucified, by your own team and the opposition.

Want to see him punished for it if, for nothing else, to give maximum exposure to the issue. Why are players getting access to the referee before the match as well?

My love for palace and Wilf makes me fume at this but, let's be straight here, every club does this sort of thing from the top, right down to Sunday league.

My issue is that I want more of our players to give it back. Could you imagine what would have happened if we had an Andy Gray, a Clint Hill, a Shaun Derry etc. My personal favourite who I was always gutted ended up becoming a Millwall favourite was Kevin Muscat. The way he shut that gobs***e, Lee Bowyer, up in a cup game at selhurst was glorious. Had we players like that on the pitch who also possess premier league ability, the likes of Watford would think twice before dishing out dirty stuff.

I actually think we've become a bit too nice. We say Luka will 'fcukin murder ya' but compared to a Mile, or a Damo or a Paddy, it's more of a tickle.

I don't really want us to give it back. I love that we play fairly in the main, respect tge sport and other people, and do our talking with the ball. It's deeply satisfying to go to a place like Huddersfield or Watford or Bournemouth, watch them fail to kick us off the park instead of playing football, and then turn them over with a solid defence and good goals.

Unfortunately if the officials don't do their jobs we can't do ours and the temptation to descend to their level goes up.

getting yellow cards for deliberate fouls is not cheating, its playing dirty within the rules of the game. I hate it too but I also celebrate the fact that a senior player has admitted it. It helps to get it out in the open and perhaps the rule makers can do something about it.

I'd say that they're rather like The Clowns, not worthy of the title.
