I can see Candace Owens having quite a big future in the Republican party. However, by me, she will forever be remembered by that argument she had with Blaire White on the Dave Rubin show....which was immortalised later in song.

I quite enjoy the fact that Russell engages with such a broad range of people on his podcasts. There really isn't enough of that in this day and age. I do think he comes to things by way of connectedness with people rather than political savvy, as many will recall from his Question Time appearance, but he has his own niche all the same. Joe Rogan is also worth a listen. He has a varied mix of left, right, tech types, psychonauts and MMA fighters. On paper it sounds crazy, but he's an affable guy and it works. Candice was on his show a while back. Edited by Tawny (19 Dec 2018 1.38am)

Maybe he's matured due to his many personal issues he's overcome. Yeah Joe Rogan is the king. It's how I got into Jordan Peterson a couple of years back. His recent-ish chat with Elon Musk was good. Dave Rubin's interviews on YouTube are also worth a listen. They've both had on leftist academics who I quite respect such as Sam Harris and Bret and Eric Weinstein. As you say, discussing different ideas is how we evolve – not shutting down speech from the opposing side. Edited by Penge Eagle (19 Dec 2018 12.19pm)

As you say, he's not been without challenges in life and credit to him he appears to have used them to the benefit of himself and others. Rogan is definitely where it's at. Actually I think thats the first time I was introduced to Peterson too. He books without any particular ideological bias and manages to bring out the human side of his guests, in so much that I can see where they're coming from and that it's from a good place. He's open to the world and resists being dragged to any political extreme. In these polarising times, there's much to be said for that. I'll be sure to check out Dave Rubin!

Ok, lets do what (WordUp)...oh sorry, 'Tawny' does and give him an exaggerated form of his own medicine: Joe Rogan is a drug taker, in fact he's brags about driving whilst high, and has bragged about it on his podcast, says he feels it makes him a better driver. People die from drivers who are high. You are supporting this guy....here showing approval for his podcast. This means you support driving while high, as obviously you have shown concern about this. In the past he was a moon landing denier and hence suspicious of science. You approve of this guy and so must support everything he says. Joe Rogan once said, 'I view women that don't like children the same way I view dogs that eat their own s***.'. As you approve of this guy you must approve this attitude. He has regularly called women bitches, hookers and sluts. People who have worked with him in the past have accused him of bullying. One of them was Andy Dick, who is on record in several places as saying Joe made his working life hell. You must approve of this because you like Joe Rogan. I remember him on the Howard Stern show expressing relief that a women he'd had sex with earlier in his life had had an abolition rather than have given birth to that child. You must approve of this because you like Joe Rogan. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Dec 2018 2.31am)

I’d disagree with the assessment that she ‘ran rings around him’ - she’s impressively knowledgable and a good speaker, but I think he provided some interesting counters - it’s a shame our politicians on either side aren’t half as knowledgable or engaging.

I'm not aware of every facet of his personal life and am not defending or supporting him based on those factors. Politically he and the show inhabit an interesting place. The same with Russell. I don't mind his exploratory attitude towards weed, though certainly would strongly disagree with anyone drinking or doing drugs while behind the wheel. I'm not a massive proponent of abortion - I think you meant that rather than your accidental slavery reference.

Errr....sorry, if you get to say I have an affinity with neo Nazis, I get to say you support drivers on drugs killing people because Rogan drives on drugs. You know....because I have this mystic inner understanding of your motivations like you have of me. Edited by Stirlingsays (20 Dec 2018 12.42pm)

I'll be getting back to Joe Rogan here as I'm pretty sure this interuption and indulgence would bore others. I'm happy for people to take a view on anything I post.
