The other day he-who-must-be-fed came through to the kitchen wearing sort of gingery-beige cords and a fawn shirt. "Do I look ok?" he asked. "Only if you want to go out looking like a digestive biscuit" I replied. He disappeared and returned wearing dark grey cords and a teal shirt. Beige is alive and well and being fought against by women up and down the country! Great comment I have an image of a woman wielding a broom and telling a beige top "leave my family alone".

I was watching the cricket last week and when the commentators were standing on the pitch chatting I noticed that they were all wearing blue suits or trousers with brown shoes. In my day of wearing suits that was always considered a no no as brown shoes only ever went with a brown suit but it seems that fashions change. I've still got a pair of brown brogues somewhere so I'll dig them out and wear them with blue jeans so that I'm fashionable again As the saying goes "Fashion is in one era and out of the other" ! I readily admit to wearing brown shoes with blue jeans indeed I was attired like this when I attended a non-league game at the weekend.Delighted to hear that this is in vogue !

Isn't it called 'magnolia' these days ? Yes but you won’t find it in as many show homes with cream carpets anymore. A lot of people still have that but it’ll often be because they haven’t got round to changing it from purchase.

I really don't have any aversion to beige per se, but what I cannot abide are those darned 'Crocs' or older gentlemen wearing 'Jesus sandals' and socks. As my wife has said "Not a good look".

My brother lives on a canal boat and he and his missus wear those plastic Crocs, they are ugly. I got up one morning and within minutes my shoes were sopping wet because of the morning dew. My brother laughed and said now you know why we wear Crocs.

My view is that Crocs are on a par with so called 'Jesus sandals'. Cannot abide either of them. In Australia what we term 'Flip flops' are called 'Thongs' but of course over here thongs refer to some apparel which is somewhat scanty.Never availed of a thong as well.

I am going to search all four corners of this planet till I find myself a beige thong, or g-string or maybe a beige mankini, people might mistakenly think I'll be wearing a body stocking but who cares
