Watching his highlights Meyer seems to have a lovely weighted through ball pass which if used slipping Zaha in behind could cause carnage. Leave the holding job to Luka he is the man for that role. Kouyate either in there with him or in and around the middle.

I can't wait to see if Kouyate is actually his replacement; receiving the ball from defence and starting the attacks. I love Jimmy Mac but that isn't the strongest part aspect to his game; in my view.

We were great at the end of last season. Great pre season and great on Saturday. I say let the new boys earn their right to play for us first before we start discussing who to drop.

This is how I see it going, but if benteke doesn't start scoring soon, could loose his starting place to Ayew.

This is also how I see it. Kouyate, Jimmy Mc and Luka together gives us a very strong base with which to attack. Meyer can provide the creativity that perhaps RLC would have given us. Schlupp can play on the left if we are struggling, as can Ayew for Tekkas or Andros. Fact is, the players we have bought are as good as the ones we have lost and in a way actually add more to the squad because they have more variety to their game. Overall I think this is a better squad than last year and that is all I would ever ask from the club - just get slightly better each year. COYP

Could we actually be entering a new era, "Squad Rotation."

They are not paying Meyer a fortune to have him sit on the bench Unless he is terrible in training, I'd start bedding him in after the Liverpool game. We have a relatively easy schedule up to October 21 - away to Everton. Optimistically, by then, even that will be regarded as winnable The general consensus seems to be that Kouyate had gone off the boil at West Ham. Nevertheless, he was second in assists for the team last year Medium term, I see Schlupp as an impact sub and McArthur as the first replacement for Meyer/Kouyate/Luka if any of them are missing

On last season's form, Ayew is a better player then Bentecke. I'm not sure why we would be starting Bentecke to be honest. He needs to start scoring in the next few games otherwise Ayew to start.

Agreed George, however Roy will be working on getting Ayew used to our system of play at the moment which may take a few weeks training. Benteke does look up for it this season but he knows he must deliver if he is not to be replaced.

What I’m seeing is the possibility of any three playing together in the middle - Add Schlupp and a solid forth option for the middle / replacement LB / winger / etc and he becomes our utility man.

In a way it is strange that people want Mcarthur replaced by Meyer, a player I doubt many of us have actually seen play live.
