The MSM/social media continually pump their agenda driven 'news' and God forbid any alternative view.
The simple question is 'why do that'?
Free-speech all day long Orwell all regret it one day.

Typo or joke? Very good either way.

It's highly likely that Orwell would disapprove of today's 'hate speech' laws. I say this in acknowledgement that using figures of the past as support for the present is always dubious.

Still, these laws didn't exist in his day and he never called for increased public censorship of speech in Britain, not that I'm aware of.

I still regard Rowan Atkinson's original words on this issue as very relevant.

Hilarious, but true.

It just underlines that, very frequently, those who are loudest in condemning intolerance are, in fact, the most intolerant of all.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

But then, if those being intolerant in the first place weren't, those condemning it louder wouldn't need to surely?

Life would be a lot more simple if we all just got along right, man? *lights spliff, hope no one in the office notices*

Remember, we are talking about speech here.....the expression of thought.

Outside of incitement to murder it's a bloody disgrace what the left have instigated and the 'right' have maintained.

The US is now the only country in the anglosphere which has real state maintained free speech.......even though the far left silicon valley companies no longer do.

Still chuckling at Stirling thinking major global coorporations, with some questionable practices and not exactly transparent tax planning structures, are ‘far left’.

They reap the benefits of capitalism, yet preach Marxism by socially engineering speech on their platforms. Plus censoring and shadow banning people on the right, which has been in the news many times. They also back the Democrats, so yes, they are on the left. When it comes to money, their socialist principles are nowhere to be seen, just like all socialists.

God, aren't that the truth.

Hypocrisy on the left knows no bounds.

Few of us imagine, surely, that the press is not subject to censorship.

In our daily lives however we still can speak freely.

It is a question of degree, not of one against the other.

Always good to read opinion from both sides of the coin. As ever, the answer usually lies somewhere in the middle

Why do you lot have to try and put everything in neat little political boxes? Why are you not allowed to make money if you also have a social conscience?
