Fantastic news plus a solidly strengthened team with some exciting new players. It should be a great season even though it will understandatbly contain some ups and downs in relation to runs of games.

As far as class, eloquence and drive are concerned, he is the epitome of Palace. I haven't been on the terraces since the days of Coppell, Allison et al. However this guy is the most genuine bloke I've ever seen as manager.

Class act, fully deserved - well done Parish.

Let's get behind the boys this season! On a side note, and unrelated to Roy, we need to get behind the team even more so I expect than last season.

COYP - best fans in the world.

Approximately 12 months ago we were manager-less and presented with names such as Roy, FDB and a few others that I fail to remember.

I thought that Roy was uninspiring and would be a step back, I thought FDB was exciting, the bee’s knees and would secure the successful future we all crave, so I didn’t even bother looking at the rest of the candidates

We all know how that chapter turned out and I now appreciate that I know jack s**t about recruitment.

12 months on, and after Roy’s end of season speech, the window was quieter than I had hoped and expected, but we certainly seem to have opted for quality over quantity.

Taking into consideration my thoughts on the managerial appointment, who am I to question the signings this window.

Roy has signed a contract extension
Wilf is still in Red and Blue
The core squad from last year still in tact.
Meyer, looks like he has the potential to be very exciting
Our other new signings look very reliable

The energy and spirit coming out from the squad seems to be a million miles from where we were starting a season ago under FDB.

Well done SP, Roy and everybody else involved.

12 months on, I’m as happy as a pig in s**t.

All we need now is a few upgrades to Selhurst Park... Oh hang on a minute!

This post sums up my own thoughts precisely.

The club really seems to be moving forward as one now.
