I think i'm alone in I don't see the fascination with Welbeck. Never have. I'm honestly coming round to thinking if, and it's a big if we are thinking of bringing a winger/striker in for around 10 mill who will act as backup to Zaha/Townsend and offer a different style of striker my preference is to bring in a young lad with potential and take a risk. Financially could be sound as we can develop him and his value.

I would accept any of the 3 BUT only on a loan deal.

All 3 have had injuries and on high wages

Welbeck, simply as he looks the most likely to score some goals. Re signing of Bolasie would be done on pure sentiment as he isn't a goalscorer. Ings would be closer to this but similar to what we already have. Personally I would be looking for cheaper options abroad, good with the ball on the ground, tricky finisher not necessarily a workhorse.

Welbeck.

I don't see how we'd finance it though as there are now only suggestions of 2 loan signings.

As much as I love Bolasie, I think it is a step backwards. If he signs I'll be delighted, but it would need to be a signing that Roy wants rather than the board.

Danny Ings is now the unknown in regards to quality. He did well at Burnley and got his move but having played no football for 2 years, it's not worth the gamble.

I still think we will get Abraham from Chelsea on deadline day.

Yep. Could well be right all round there.

Although I see Welbeck as the better choice, I would say that Ings would have something to prove if he were to get a further chance in the PL. Welbeck otoh would probably see us as a step down and possibly the end of his England career and I just don’t think we’d get the same level of effort and commitment from him. Just a thought!
