why do you think our squad is thin, the kids are coming plus signings,we have a half decent squad, last season was a nightmare for injurys and we still finished higher than 9 teams so we are not in that bad a shape

2 quality outfield players have left. Cabaye and RLC. 3 if you include Mensah. 2 have come in so far. Meyer and Kouyate. We probably won’t have the same quantity of injuries but we could have randomly a few in one position or type of position.

We'll also have Wickham available and Dann a few games into the season. Souare is also looking sharp again after preseason.

2 keepers

2 RBs

2 LBs, plus Souare. And PVA or Schlupp can play further forward.

4 CBS. Kouyate can fill in here.

5 mids? Or is it 6?

2 wide players and/or top third players with a bit of pace/dribbling or taking player on ability.

3 CFs with no pace. Benteke, Sørloth, Wickham

Actually that’s quite good for us, but it is a bit vulnerable with that lack of options with pace/mobility out wide/taking opposition players on, however it’s not Roy’s style usually.

yes give you that, but RLC may come back,i think we are stronger in defence to mid-field than we have had for awhile, only major injurys will change that,so less injurys than last year it could turn into happy days

I can still see RLC coming back. In his interview, Meyer said he sees himself as a No.8 but took the No.7 shirt... it may be a leap, but with Hodgson not rejecting the possibility, could this mean the No.8 shirt is being held for RLC? We also seem to be going after another striker.

Our midfield is looking very, very good. If Meyer fulfils on his promise and Kouyate gets back to his best then we should give anyone a very good game. If we could get a striker playing who can finish the huge amount of chances we create then the sky is the limit. One thing we possibly are missing is another winger, but I think Roy may stick to his narrow 4 as that seemed to work well.

I am still holding out hope that RLC will come back. although he may look At our signings and wonder if he's gonna get as much game time.
I think we have good cover for most areas - We will Always struggle Sans Wilf but with Meyer in there I think that more will be created without him. Our main issue is going to be scoring enough goals.

Comfortable mid-table, looking over our shoulders at the car-crash of clubs below us desperately fighting to avoid relegation.

That’d do me.

A season without a car crash sequence of results - given that every team from 7 down had one last season and we just got ours in first that should mean top half.

I'd add signing up Roy for a season's extension would be my priority - not least because I expect Wilf will be on his way soon. We don't want to lose both at once and we need the right man in place to spend the proceeds wisely.

Out - Cabaye, Ruben & Sako.
In - Meyer, Kauyate.

Injuries apart, right now I wouldn’t say out team was stronger than last year. About on par I would say, although Ruben was on loan so that being considered there’s more longevity.

I think if we had Tammy Abraham and or Ruben then we will have significantly strengthen. This being said I’m generally happy with the transfer window.

For what its worth.....

I don't think Fulham will do to our players like Huddersfield did on the opening day of last season & we ALL know what happened next.. . . (imo)

With the players that have gone and the players coming in personally feel we should just aim to finish higher than last season. Maybe push for a europa league spot if things go our way and we sign/loan a couple more.
