I'd be happy with 2 former crystals returning. Can never have enough crystals.

Just the one.

On 7th August we are all excited about rumours everywhere of a major new signing and later we find out that that we have acquired another goalkeeper.

Then Kouyate arrives at Selhurst Park in the afternoon of 9th and is impressed by Roy’s plans. Everything looks promising until, at 16:58, just as he is about to put pen to paper, Sullivan phones him and tells him Porto will double whatever Palace are offering…..

We'll get one in out of the blue that we weren't linked with at all and barely anyone will know anything about them.

We'll get one in on loan from either Chelsea or West Ham.

One we'd have hoped to get through will fall apart as it's too late on deadline day after their team didn't get the player they wanted so will keep the one we want.

So 2 in total, maybe the other loan spot will be taken up in January, I expect a midfielder and flexible winger/forward.

I don't actually recall them saying that at all

In fact when does 'the Palace board' ever pronounce on anything?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Drinkwater is a no go as he is on stupid money (one report I saw was 170,000 a week !) Plus a couple of mill loan fee and Im afraid he has priced out of the loan market unless Chelsea are prepared to take a hit , which wont be their usual business plan .

Im just hoping we are surprised in the next week or two and we bring in a couple of decent players

If he's on anything like that sort of money, then what you've said will apply to pretty much every club in the world. Also, he will be priced out of the 'sale' market too, unless he's prepared to take a pay cut.

We’ll bring in a couple of loans to try and plug some gaps!!

And RLC will go to someone else on loan

When do I start getting really concerned and then angry about no signings?

Not yet. Not sure when. Will it get to that?

December 27th. Just in time to get excited about the January window.

RLC will probably not return and given our apparently hopeless financial status, one or two loan signings may happen on the last day of the window at best.Believe Roy has said as much already.

That being said,if Wilf hangs around after all the speculation, then that will be a key ingredient for our survival once again in the forthcoming season.

I think there may be more piegates with Parish before December 27th if there’s no signings before Fulham.
