I travel that way most days so would advise to go to Clapham Junction, then get the Overground from platform 1 to Willesden Junction. From there you can get the Overground to Watford. Normally takes an hour from Thornton Heath to Wembley so not much more to Watford.

this is normally one of the easiest games for me to get to, can be under a hr. Sunday looks a complete nightmare & train line suggesting 4 changes & over a 2hr journey.
