Because they are in the USA and have big bargaining power. It is also a PR opportunity.

Big fan of Trump essentially saying he wants to join the Single Market.

The two points that I would make are firstly who gives a monkeys what Lineker's opinion on Brexit is as it's about as valuable as Mrs May's opinion on whether Manchester City can win the league again.

Secondly will you please stop starting threads by just posting links to media articles unless you are willing to give your opinion on the article too

In the end, you are a sore loser.

I think I'll start a campaign to try to persuade all Brexiteers to stop taking European holidays and buying European cars until the EU start playing ball.

Let's start hitting them in their pockets. They'll soon see it's wise to have a reciprocal business deal.

Spain would still be mainly farmland if it weren't for the British holidaymaker, whilst VW, Audi, BMW and Mercedes would kick up a hefty stink in Germany should their UK sales dip substantially.

I’m game. They’d do the same and actually do do the same in some cases. Sadly we’re a bit, well, spineless.

I'm the one who is going to have to live with the consequences a lot longer than you are.

As will those who can’t get trained, a job, or a house with this current arrangement.

And yet you don't mind 250k immigrants arriving here every year forever.

Odd.

The basic attitude of Remain is that we should have another referendum until they get the result they want.
It is particularly laughable since the process is at its most negative time right now, which was inevitable given what had to be achieved.
Let's have another referendum in 20 years or 30 years when we can see how it has all turned out.

Or maybe 50 years according to JRM

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.

(Sorry, got my first effort a bit wrong.)

I was only going to point out that Tim Martin is doing his bit to "hit them in the pocket". In Wetherspoons the other day, there was a leaflet on the tables promoting the non-European products he's introducing into his pubs as contracts run out.
