His wage demands were much more than that: "His agent told everyone that Meyer is world class, he has to earn about €8m (£7.5m) per year and he is able to play only for the best clubs in the world. But now they have to recognise that the top clubs do not think that they are right with their opinion."

I still think he's worth a shout if we can convince him to come. Ok, big salary, but no fee & if he's as good in the PL as his reputation would have us believe then we'd have a very valuable asset on our hands.

If it was between this guy, Gonalons, Grujic, Kouyaté, Antonio or even Drinkwater i'd go with this guy, his wages are highish but any of the others mentioned would be close to equal if not on higher wages,(not to mention transfer fees, this just seems like adding 2+2 to = best possible outcome. Only problem i can see is him not wanting to come here, but still offer his required wages, put him on a 2 year contract, if he impresses it benefits him by getting a bigger move after at most 2 years, and if he doesn't we aren't stuck with a player on high wages for too long. Then who knows he might buy into the red and blue way of living in that time. Hope this happens

Not a lot if you're Jack Rodwell. These days seems ok if no actual transfer fee but you can be sure will be some kind of signing on fee, agents fee, bonuses etc Media just quoting players' wages is a bit misleading if you want to know their actual remuneration from club Originally posted by hobbohanky
Daily mail said Arsenal didn't want to pay him the requested £4 million a year wages, this works out at about 76'000 a week. Is that a lot nowadays? Where would he sit in terms of highest paid Palace players?
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

on paper, what a piece of business this looks. basically Cabaye in his prime (who was a bit of a prima Donna back then)

Would love this to happen, but TBH I can't see it. We're just not a big enough club. About now I expect Everton to throw their hat in the ring - they've been associated with every player so far!
