Looking at what is happening in the transfer market were theres more out than coming in.
I imagine the modest profit each year is important for keeping the bank happy. I'd be surprised to not see that now continue year on year with a stadium to pay for. I imagine we probably have around 20m to play with in the tranfer market which means we are either looking for freebies, lower league cheap buys or looking at leagues in Europe that still consider 10m a lot of money (Belgium, Norway, Sweden, etc) Failing that, if we spend big on a name player we will almost definitely need to sell to balance the accounts. Nearly every other club will be doing the same unless they are unconcerned with recieving a massive fine for breach of FFP

If fair play comes in the bournemouth and west ham are screwed and others like them will struggle. So expect bargain buys and the chance of ever getting 6th place becoming tougher each season. But every season in the prem helps the coffers. RLC on loan again looks obvious.

Bournemouth were fined ages ago but appealed the amount and the wheels of the legal process grind very slowly. These relatively minimal fines are not a deterrent to clubs with rich owners as Bournemouth (for example) will just look at their £4.5m fine as the entry fee to the exclusive club of riches. If the authorities really want FFP to work then they need to come up with better deterrents like a points deduction for example or perhaps refusing to sanction the purchase of a new player unless the club can prove that they are acting within FFP rules ^^ spot b0II0ck^^ As for Palace, I think the Board are finding it a tricky balance with players wages taking so much of the revenue.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

Just a thought few, is it possible that we have more money than you think and we have put bids in for players but havnt been made public? Also mostof the players we will be after have very likely just come back from the world cup or still in it? Looking at the books we are actually in a better position than most, our wages are generally not that high and as we only badly need 2 players (4 would be a bonus) then we have time to sniff around and not go crazy? Teams like Wolves and Brighton desperatly need lots of players in lots of positions so they are buying anything they can get, we dont have too...stop worrying!!!

That really isn't the case, based on published accounts(2016/17): "Palace also had the ninth highest wage bill in the division, with a yearly increase of 39 per cent taking their total to £111.8m, which was only exceeded by Europa League participants Southampton, Champions League participants Leicester City, and last season's top six sides" Also. I'd like to believe we're shopping in the Waitrose of World Cup participants, but I think it more likely that we're rummaging through the bargain bins at Aldi and Lidl. Bournemouth were fined £4.5m for breaking FFP rules when getting themselves promoted to Premiership and earning £110m plus a year for two years so far This is a genuine problem that should have been fixed. Poor administration and extremely unfair to clubs who run their business properly.

Aside from clubs just being able to front out the fines, the problem is like tax evasion, plug one loophole and some clever accountant finds another one. There are a few clubs who've found ways of injecting massive amounts of cash, but avoiding FFP, by the way it's shown in their accounts.

There should be a cache all rule and only limited ways to contribute financially to a club. I've always been of the mind that where's there's a will, there's a way. But I don't know how this works so these are just layman's moans.

I think the bargain bins of Aldi and Lidl can contain some decent stuff if you know what you are looking at. A nice metaphor for our esteemed transfer gurus to find us someone decent at a good price.
