As mentioned earlier he has signed.....for some reason the club have chosen not to announce it yet.

I "heard" he hasn't signed and there's nothing to "announce". Your move.

Ward was one of our best players when we were first promoted but has definitely failed to kick on. Still, a good servant with the record PL appearances for the club

its the sort of logic footballers follow...if i was wardy i would be thinking why am i earning less than players im better than.

i think he is still more than good enough, when fit towards the end of the season he went back into the team and had now been one of the 1st names on the teamsheet for 5 years, it would cost more to replacemhim than to keep him, i imagine it would cost £15m to replace him.

Time now it is being reported he would not sign a new deal. Something I don't know?

I heard he was offered a new deal about a year ago which he rejected. Since then Palace made a new offer. In view of Wan-Bissaka's success and Townsend's ability to play right back (as well as Kelly and Schlupp) his new offer was considerably less than the one he wouldn't sign. And with no guarantees of being first choice.
At his age he'll be wanting to play. Plus I imagine he'll be looking for a good contract as it might be one of his last.
This I imagine is why Ward has not (and possibly will not) sign.

I did NOT mean Townsend in the above post sorry. I meant Tomkins. As I'm sure most would guess

Well he has done well for us but is rather limited and I would be suprised if any other PL club will want him with view to being a starter.
And 15m, my goodness there are a lot of rightbacks available for far less and even better,AWB is ahead of him anyway and already onboard. So fair play if he thinks he can do better but we will not miss him that much and he should be easily replacable for far less then 15m.

Are you sure you meant Schlupp as well, he is a left sided player after all and don't recall him ever being touted as a right back.

Hennessey Speroni and Kelly have re-signed.

Ward Sako and Cabaye have been offered new deals but club has not announced outcome. Judging on past form that means nothing as we like to announce news together rather than seperately. So all we can do is wait for club to announce outcomes
