We're still stuck with him for another year as far as I remember.

On loan, and Canada is not in the USA.

He can put himself in the shop window while on loan. We may even get a fee for him. We thought he was an ok signing when he came here, in all fairness. Certainly good enough for mid-table Championship sides at the least.

Jermain Defoe was ‘retired’ to Canada, then came back to the PL to become the greatest striker in living memory (in games against CPFC). And NOW Her Majesty has given him the Oh Bloody ‘Ell.

So maybe Jordan will follow a similar path...

I don't ever recall thinking this.

No idea why Pardew signed him, and certainly not on a 4.5 year deal!

QPR bought him for £5 mill, soon realised their mistake and unloaded him to us at the next transfer window, and got their £5 mill back. I had a lurk on the QPR forum at the time. Fans were queuing up to drive him to Selhurst. To be fair, he'd had a good season at Cardiff which no doubt sparked QPR's interest.

Probably because he had been Cardiff's outstanding player in the Premier League the previous year. Certainly did a lot more for them than Zaha that season
Unfortunately, it was a blip

I know he wasn't a marquee signing like we expect now and it wasn't really that exciting to sign him. I still believe most fans were happy enough to sign him for the squad when we did. Hasn't worked out but he is better than some we have had over the years. His transfer fee looks like a pittance in comparison to current ones - still we won't recoup it.

I think he finds the athletic side harder than most do, and has a languid playing style. Both of which put fans' backs up. But i think he could still make it in the PL.

Before you get slated for that view, I don’t disagree. I think he needs to go to a Championship side. Get them promoted, and then get a decent run in the Prem. perhaps somewhere like Reading. I don’t think his next move is to the Prem.

I genuinely don’t know what a “marquee signing” is; please explain.

I take it that it doesn’t mean a signing we are inTENT on making.

Sorry. Couldn’t resist the pun, but the question is genuine. Thanks.

People like Cabaye or Benteke, our record or nearly record, big signings. The ones the club makes a big song and dance about.
