The last day of the season is always tough to call for two reasons: motivation (or lack of) Some teams will bottle it, others won't care, others will produce super-human efforts. The form of previous games suddenly has less relevance than it normally would. I'm sure there are loads of examples of strange results, but Man Utd 5 West Brom 5 springs to mind as an anomaly. I desperately want us to fight till the very end. I'd be really disappointed if we decide that our season is done, lose and then drop 3 places. I want us to finish as high as possible and we have an excellent chance of 11th as a minimum. West Brom could have everything to die for. Question is which Palace will turn up; one without fear or one without motivation.

I'm sure the team will be motivated enough to want to reward us long-suffering but loyal supporters with a home win given we have only won 6 of the 18 played this season. The highest we are likely to finish is 10th, which is worth 22 million. However, if we lose our last game and all other results conspire against us (hugely unlikely) we could end up at worst in 16th. That's worth 10m so quite a significant drop. As I say though ending in 16th is rather unlikely.

Apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum or has been answered elsewhere, but is anything special planned for the Baggies match? I’ve been to most of the home matches and I’m sure there haven’t been as many displays/banners etc. as previous seasons. Is this a result of the Brexit recession? Or not having much to celebrate until quite recently? I’m always happy to contribute but haven’t seen any requests for funds.

I think the tv money is irrelevant regarding prize money for each place higher in the league which I think last year was £1.9 mil. I’m pretty sure actually.

The money is broken down in to 4 sections: Equal share of 50% of UK TV rights Only the last part is a variable, not the merit placing. A club lower down the table could earn more in TV money than a club above them.
