In my opinion one of the most improved players over the course of this season, what i would call an old fashioned centre half, with Sakho looking to pass the ball accurately to feet Tomkins will "lift" the ball up field at times as needed to ensure danger is removed.
Also despite having West Ham roots i think he is really getting the club and fans DNA, did you see him at the end of the game run to the Holmesdale arms aloft and fists clenched and gave his shirt to a supporter at the front.
