Genuine curiosity. I wonder how female couples conclude which of them will carry the baby? It was actually Mrs YT, not I, who pondered about this when the story came up on BBC News.

Your friend's approach could be turned into a kind of 'Russian roulette' i.e. one man services the pair of them together, then see which one (possibly both of them) falls pregnant. In fact I think I saw a (ah hem) 'documentary' about it once. Well there were definitely one bloke and two lesbians involved
