I agree COYP but it's nothing like Zaha not passing. A GK kicking directly into touch is basic not decision based Originally posted by Guangzhou
I completely agree, Hennessey was excellent today. He did his job with confidence, especially in 2nd half when defence was dropping further and further back. He completely dominated his box and took so many high balls (at his height this is something he should always have been doing).
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

He's still not very good and makes defence and fans nervous. Played well yesterday and get the impression he’s an important influence in the dressing room even though he’s not out of the top draw of goal keepers. Guess that should be trumped by talent but Roy obviously still thinks he’s the best we have (interesting to see Speroni rather than Cavalieri on the bench. Thought he looked quite handy in a few clips of training). The player that makes me more nervous than anyone else is Van Aanholt. Brilliant on his day but capable of some real howlers and just wish he could be a little more consistent.

Made some decent claims and saves in the second half so well done Wayne. His disribution was god-awful though and in a half where we sat so deep, giving them the ball back was criminial. Three times his goalkicks went out of play, a throw to PVA went out too. And then towards the end, when they even had Dunk up front, he kicks the ball directly to their keeper!

If he'd been as s*** yesterday as some people round here assume we'd have been tanked. The pundits were talking about how playing with no centre-forward confuses the defence because they don't know whom to mark or track. I wonder if it also makes keeper distribution harder too: no big beacon three-quarters of they way up the park to aim for. When Tekers came on Hennessey had his head to aim for and he put seven or eight balls up for him to collect. He won exactly 0.

Hennessey had a pretty good game yesterday, if he played like that all the time there would be no need for the 'Hennessey is crap' threads on here and the BBS..................BUT HE DOESNT!

Distribution was awful. To say he was superb is very farfetched. when he was kicking the ball up the pitch, he kept kicking it 60 yards and up to the left, it went out of play more than once. needs more practice. heroic shot stopping .

Played well. Except for his occasional bad distribution

He stopped shots well today , but his distribution was pretty poor , direct kicks into touch and even a throw. The throw was PVA's fault

That's a good point someone mentioned about Hennessy not having a target man to kick to! He was most likely aiming for the wings?

'fraid not. I was sitting right behind him. The throw was too hard and behind PVA. Hennessey knew it too and put his hand up in apology.
