If you replaced Wilf with Gareth Bale we would have a piece of dynamite who would be even better than Wilf. Yet he struggles to make it into Real team. Subbed at half time tonight. How many Palace players do you think would get in the Madrid team?

After watching Ruben Neves tonight, and that amazing goal, I can see why he’s rated the best player to ever play in the championship and by many the best player outside the top 6 in Prem. Ronaldo wants him to take his place in Portugal’s squad for years to come after breaking his own record as their youngest ever captain. Love him to replace Cabaye, but the problem for us is he’s on his way to Real Madrid! But yeah, I’d say Wilf has gotta be up there Edited by Honey Gee (12 Apr 2018 1.18am) Edited by Honey Gee (12 Apr 2018 2.15am)

Wilf has developed well as a player and I think he would walk into most Premiership sides and I am not just saying that because he is a Palace player....
To be a top player you need to be consistent plus have end product (look how many chances he misses or doesn't just put ball in box) He needs to learn to stop doing the tricks all the time. The other big problem is his attitude and look how he gets wound up so easily

Great player, not as good as our fans make out he is. I think this sums it up for me. He's an excellent player for us almost talismanic but is he good enough to play for the very top sides? I don't think so personally. My two gripes with him would be as someone else said, not enough goals and he has a petulant side to him. We all know he gets rough treatment but he does tend to sit on the pitch with his puss in boots from Shrek look on his face if he doesn't get a decision. I love the guy and would never want him to leave, he's a good fit for us, if he goes elsewhere would he get the same adulation he gets here? Probably not. I think he's the type of player that needs that to be at his best.

We are a different team when Wilf isn't playing - the relative difference he makes is what will keep us up.

Remind me how many games we've won this season without using Wilf. More a reflection on how poor our squad is ....

One of wilf's bad traits is that he doesn't centre the ball quickly enough when on the wing.

I think he really is top draw, if he played in a high-quality team I reckon he would be lethal, The only question mark is his temperament, could he fit in with other high-quality players. IMO he is worth in today's market in excess of 50m. In a top top team he wouldn't be directly targeted like he is currently. So the temperament issue would be negated to a degree. He would also get more space and time which arguably would allow him to showcase his talents better.
