You're both correct in that its a worse case scenario...but as things stand that IS possible and as such suits the purpose. Hopefully we'll see the move down over the next few matches to within touching distance.

I think this time next week that magic number will look a lot more achievable...well I'm hoping so anyway ! We do have a lot to be positive about. We're playing well and although we have dropped a lot of points we should have got in recent games which is sooo annoying, the only two games that really mattered were Huddersfield and Bournemouth away, and we got 4 points, which we'd have taken before playing them. 37 will almost certainly be enough to stay up this season so 2 wins out of 5...and with the run in we have and the fact we have most players back, if we can't manage that then we deserve to go down. In Roy we trust... COYP !!

It is also based on the team in 18th winning six out of six. Possible - but highly unlikely given that they have to play both Chelsea and Man City in those games. Indeed. By my unscientific analysis, I think 3 wins will easily be enough. Or 2 wins and 3 draws. 40 points and I reckon more than 3 teams will finish below us. We still have to do it, of course. (And yes I do “remember Oldham”)

(And yes I do “remember Oldham”) So do we all, but this season there are 4 teams in a really bad position regarding form, scoring & opposition. Thought 32 points ages ago would keep up, def think 34 will. Remember we play 3 of them & a few play each other plus the sid3s in the top 5. Keep the faith: COYP

I think (say) 5 draws (= 36 points) would keep us up, and therefore the Brighton game isn’t as critical as many are suggesting. I still think we’ll win it though!

Dewf will win YT, and beat Stoke & WBA, also fancy we don’t lose the other two, but could easily win both. Next season hopefully will be a joy
