There's a large (ooh, err missuss.) part of me that thinks we have dodged a bullet here. No Clattenfukc as he has turned Pro cnut in Saudi Slavia. Plus no premier 'quality' refereeing...

You clearly don't like him, but most refs seem to have problem with Wilf and the lack of protection he gets is really poor in my view. Plus clearly a couple of highly debatable decisions in the final - it's the lack of consistency that's my main gripe.

I think you are right but I doubt if many/any would be from the Premier league. When you have an unfit ref like Jon Moss on your "elite" list, you know the standard is, at best, average.

I simply do not accept that he is "Unfit". PL referees meet for a ‘training camp’ twice a month, where they perform physical training sessions amongst other things.

The only certainty with the refereeing is that fifa will do their usual and try to keep the host nation in the competition for as long as possible. It's not as if this particular host isn't averse to bit of back scratching anyway. How else did they get the ticket? However, fifa will oblige with a ref from one of the sh1te federations with zero pedigree - Jordanian or some such. He will mysteriously officiate in the opening game and then one inconsequential match between st Helena and the cook islands (couldn't be bothered to look up the qualifiers) before disappearing without a trace. Having been handed the prestige opening match he will duly steer Russia to an unlikely win with such blatant partiality that the world will gasp with the sheer bl00dy flagrancy of it. The only folk who do not make any comment - another mystery - is the panel of highly paid pundits who blandly comment on the implausibility of the 4 highly questionable penalties awarded to the ruskies and commiserate their obviously superior opponents. At the end of the tournament there will be a meek comment along the lines that the officiating is not what it could be... but the audacious corruption of the opening match will be quietly forgotten.
