It was a bizarre decision not to send Mane off for hand ball, personally I would have sent him off for the dive in the first half.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Add to that - he had a word with Henderson which was presumably - "you had best take him off because the next thing he does wrong I will send him off"!
Refs should not do that - it is not for them to advise a team - absolutely against the rules!

Henderson is claiming that the ref said to both captains "You both know why it is not a yellow!!" WTF does that mean?
Even Klopp has said he expected a red (although he disagreed with the first yellow)
People saying Mane was " clipped" for the first, right near me I didn't think so but the way he yelped and rolled around was disgraceful, even Salah just walked away.
Don't worry Willo will explain why deliberate handball is not a Yellow card, Apparently Paddy Power tweeted that ref had in fact reached in his pocket for a card then obviously bottled it.

Yeah I saw that tweet too. Is there a VAR for this sort of failure to impose the rules of the game?

Mane lost out in the tackle near the corner of his own box and fell on his arse. He thought he should be getting a free kick, which was not the case. So he palmed at the ball, then grabbed it, pre-empting the decision and preventing us from getting the ball back into the box. Handball, and also ungentlemanly conduct, oh and probably simulation as well. Three different kinds of yellow card in one.

That is to say, he would have given a yellow, but then realised who it was and that he would then have to send him off, so changed his mind.

Perhaps our resident refereeing expert can tell us why an offence which is a yellow card for a first offence suddenly becomes uncautionable if the player already has a yellow card.

Don't you know? It's when it happens to a member of a top six side playing against one of us lesser mortals.

First half he did very well (he did get mane going down in box wrong it was a penalty but i think delayed reaction is why he booked him instead)

Second half was different story he switched so many he got wrong liverpool players took out wilf few times which should of been yellows and he didn't even get free kick and well that hand ball was shocking.

but you could say palace was lucky here because we had maybe 3 players showing the card sign to the ref you cant do that so they could all of been booked.

the guy didn't want to break his record of not sending some one off

Mindboggling decision for sure, should have been cautioned for unsporting behavior ( that's the term they use these days - politically correct !) and hence sent off. That might have swung the game towards us but apart from that "indecision" he had a reasonable match. Dermot Gallagher (commenting on Sky) said he should have been sent off. Like I said before there's one rule for the big 6 and another for the rest of us!

The Mane decision bought back memories of Clattenburg. Once again a referee was left with no alternative, but to send off the player from the big team and inexplicably he refused to do so. His job is to enforce the laws of the game, not make up his own. I can only call him a cheat, because there is literally no other reason for him doing this. Some decisions are down to interpretation, not this one. He's on a yellow and deliberately hand balls it to stop Andros and Yohan having a 2 on 1 with Van Dyke in the area. There is no other decision than a yellow card, it's the law.
At both ends we made mistakes, but they were players, some woefully out of form making genuine mental or technical errors. This was a man consciously making a decision to not do his job. Disgraceful.
Sorry I've put this in two places, but I can't believe what I witnessed.

they picked that up on Sky;he was subbed just after that incident?
also its NOT the 1st tiem i have seen an opposition captain be "asked/told" to sub someone or they are in danger of getting sent off;happened in a home game against arsenal but cant remember the player or the ref....
