Although as a fan, I appreciate the effort gone into the list- you need to realize that the list is too extensive. For a scout to give in a list like this, it would be ridiculous, the gaffa wouldn’t know where to start. The players should be organized by position and only put in realistic and quality players. There’s no use for putting in Kevin from the Sunday League because his contract is ending and he scored 20 goals last season. The lists have to be compressed. As a wiseman would say, quality over quantity. I appreciate your large knowledge but you have been looking too hard for contracts ending. Goalkeeper: Butland. Center back: Philip Helander. Right back: No one. Midfielder: Max Power or John Bostock and Samson. Winger: Aarons or Boufal and Shaqiri or Philips. Striker: Rondon or Austin and Gayle or Bobby Reid. Punt for the future: Josh Harrop. Although this list is extensive, it is talking about why we should get the players. It is compact and aimed specifically to the player Palace should be getting and not all over the place. Cheers for reading. This isn’t being a knob, I’m trying to help you out with your list as I can tell you put time and effort into your list and if put in the right format is a lot more beneficial for you and us, the fans.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Players to Keep or Release' by Midlands Eagle I disagree with many of the conclusions in the article posted. My thoughts: Julian Speroni Yes, a club legend. But we have to get younger here. Verdict: Release, but make a coach. Wayne Hennessey Guaita, coming in will give him a challenge. Keep him, as I believe him to be a useful #1 or #2 keeper Diego Cavalieri Not sure what he offers. He's older, but maybe he's substantially cheaper. Haven't enough info to make a really informed decision, but... Martin Kelly Showed this year he's a very useful backup center back. Not the first choice on the sheet, but probably our #1 backup. Damien Delaney Joel Ward Probably won't win back the right back role from Wan-Bikassa, but an experienced back who has played a variety of positions at the back. Yohan Cabaye He may not be able to play 90 minutes week in and week out, but still the best controlling midfielder we have. Very accurate passing. Our attacks almost always starts with him. James McArthur I agree with the poster 100% on this. Palace would do well to keep him in the red and blue. Lee Chung-yong He's never going to get a serious run of games, bar a major injury crisis in midfield. Controls the ball well, but weak on defence, gets pushed off too much. The best thing for him and us is for him to move on. Verdict: Release. Bakary Sako I've never been a big fan of his, thought he was lazy and relied too much on one play (cut to the middle and shoot with his left. Then Hodgson came in and transformed him. If he can play next year like he did this, he's a great asset to have.

Yes he has expressed an interest and was going to do his badges last summer but put it off and might do them this summer. Watch his interview on FYP from 3-4 weeks ago.

I know that before promoted this time around Speroni wished to finish his playing career at Palace and then become a coach and employee for life (as long as possible).

you can't release them all considering the transfer fees to replace all of them. can't afford it. we'll be forced to resign many of them. YC - will be if he wants to stay.

I suspect that the retained/released players list will more than likely be determined by which division we are playing in next season. Edited by Willo (06 Apr 2018 8.59am)
