Yeah there’s a load of press coverage about it and it’s a ‘hot topic’ at the moment. That Jordan Peterson interview you put on here was great, really interesting and pretty much completely true, but his main argument was that women are less agreeable then men - agreed in general.

I see this as the ‘marketplace correction’ in that. Women are fighting their corner harder and are becoming less agreeable and equality is getting closer because of that.

I put that Jordan Peterson video up and I'd recommend listening to more of his work as he's a smart guy. He spoke recently about women in the workplace and said we just haven't figured out the best way of both sexes working together as it's still a new thing. How do we de-sexualise the workplace to stop harassment? Maybe women not wear make-up or high heels? Maybe have men and women wear uniforms? He doesn't have all the answers but raises some interesting questions about the issue. Only by having awkward conversations of opposite views can we find solutions... Creating a victim narrative – the Marxist oppressors v the oppressed – doesn't actually help anyone.

It's hardly a 'new' thing - my mother worked in the factory at Muirheads back in the 50's (she was asked to go back part time and use the skills she learned doing war work for a major contract they had won) - it was a mixed workshop and the women were all treated with respect, certainly no sexual harassment, it simply would not have been permitted. But, maybe that was just old fashioned ideas of behaviour and courtesy.

For my whole working life (46 years), I worked in male dominated sectors: accountancy, banking and finance. Certainly, in the late 70's and 80's there was occasional harassment, some of it quite heavy, but the straightforward threat that if they ever did whatever it was again, I would cheerfully cut off their balls and stick them down their throat (or in the case of someone with a bit more power and leverage that my father and 3 (non-existant) brothers would be round to do the same) usually did the trick. That or a slap and the instruction never to touch me again.

Mind you, I would never have considered a hand on an arm as 'harassment', nor half the stuff they all cry over these days.

As for International Woman's Day........ oh perleeeeesee! If you want equality, behave in an equal manner; if you want respect, earn it!

It has gone too far but most women don't pay attention to this sh1t and are getting on with their own lives.
