Cup semi v Southampton. Peter Taylor kicked out of it by mcmenemys hatchet brigade.

Lots of rose tinted specs about Southampton’s Cup exploits of the late seventies but they were a dirty horrible team IIRC.

Easily the Fa Cup final for me.

Bizarrely, I found the 5-4 at Swansea pretty bitter as well. Not sure if it was because Pardew didn't get sacked immediately after!

It's a long time ago but when we were in the third division we got drawn away to Aston Villa who were then riding high in the first division. We played brilliantly to get the score to 3-3 until, near the end, McParland crossed the ball which somehow managed to find the net and we lost 3-4. The Villa fans said we were the best team they had seen that season.

being relegated by Wright. it was sad and changed a lot.

The cup final defeats to Man U. they were just sad full stop.

last night strangely didn't bother me like I would have expected it to. maybe Obe Wan's ascent and that we really had a go somehow made it more tolerable.

In the days of dear old Big Mal.
Last game of the season away against Cardiff City.
We needed a win and Cardiff needed one point to avoid relegation to the third division.
Palace went 1-0 up,only for Cardiff to hit back,FT 1-1.
An awful night and an awful train journey home.

Agreed with that,we started the Season making the pitch bigger, losing then shrinking the pitch for the next game.
16 games without a Win not a measly 7.
Let’s hope we get out of it this Season.

Agreed. Also the 95 replay was not a good night/day/travel up there/ wrestling with whether to go for those few days, watching Keane stamp on Soughgate's stomach on the deck.

The FA head outside walking past received a piece of my mind and a few others chipped in. Can't remember the cvnt's name. Curly haired strawberry ginger with a lugubrious voice. It was played so soon because of Man Utd's league and I think European fixtures.

Many might say the same about me !

In terms of disappointment, I recall my head in my hands when Claridge scored that late goal in the Play-Off final.Heartbreaking.

Yeah there was that one. It was the shock as much as the disappointment. Absolutely stunned.

That's him. Was on the tip of my tongue and that's unpleasant.
