never actually met her tho, served food to her table...i wanted to touch her bum but had a moment of clarity & realised it eouldnt be a wise idea.

she had chicken ceaser salad.

i also wanted to touch lauren laverns bum during a 6music suede gig at maida-vale studios, i also deemed this not to be a good idea.

Met Prince Charles on the banks of the river Dee
We lived in an old school house only a couple of miles from Balmoral the Royals often drove past our house on the occasion we met Charles
He was with his gillie & had a brief conversation, he was very friendly & down to Earth, although looked pissed off when my daughter told him she'd scared off the Salmon by throwing stones into the river

I've never met a member of the Royal Family but my late father met and chatted to The Queen at Buckingham Palace when he went up to receive a gong a number of years ago.

Each recipient is allowed to take three people with them and I went with my father and got to see the inner sanctum

Met Diana years ago when I was an emergency fire person for her helicopter. She was willing to say hello.
Met Charles and Camilla when they came to Galway a couple of years ago - had a short intro to them.
Went to the Riverdance at the Hammersmith Apollo years ago (my wife forced me) and we were late. Got ushered in by a butler along with Princess Margaret - at least we were as drunk as her. Didn't speak to her though.
Makes me sound like I'm always hob-knobbing with them which, obviously, I am not.

Met Diana at the 1992 McDonald’s Child Of Achievement award ... she said I was “very tall”.
Met Princess Margaret around early 90’s whilst canoeing at Battersea (it was a family fun day charity thing) and I capsized shortly after saying “hello” lol. She also opened a new centre at my 6th form boarding school/college and I saw her again from a distance.
I was in the Army Cadets and was in the Duke of Edinburgh’s regiment. Got selected to attend a parade in Reading ... we had strict instructions to simply say “yes sir” or “no sir” if we were spoken to (“ma’am” for the Queen). Being 6’2 at the time and a Lance corporal, I was marker so everyone formed up on me. Prince Philip approaches and my Captain points out that I am deaf.
PP: Deaf are you?
Me: Yes sir
PP: Do you enjoy being in the cadets?
Me: Bloody love it sir
PP: Good, good
My Captain shoots me an angry look and moved him on ... naturally I got hauled up about it lol.

We both live in Bedford and have both met Zara Phillips!

I met her in a bar once. I’d had a few beers so confidently asked her for a photo. She agreed and promptly put her arm around me and smiled for the camera. Mike Tindall is stood right behind in the photo and they announced their engagement a couple of days later, so I always claim he felt threatened by me.

I was once in a hotel in London and trying to hurry to check out and I went to overtake an elderly couple on a wide corridor, I was miles away in thought.
Suddenly I was pushed up against the wall and slumped to the ground with this huge bloke shouting at me.
Apparently it was the Danish Royal family and I had got too close!!

Bloody hell...2 pages in and no one has said they have had an encounter with Caroline Aherne/Ricky Tomlinson/Ralf Little yet! What is it coming to?

My parents sat on the same table as Princess Anne at Badminton once, they had an invite from Land Rover. I'm pretty sure that's as close as they would let any of my family get to the royals.
