they could be bloody awful to watch - lots of hit and miss route 1, I don't think John Humphrey hit a pass that wasn't a least 40 yards long and 30 foot high in all his time as our right back

One good thing, and perhaps the only one for me, about Monday night football is that the trains are running. I travel up from the south coast and every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday, there is "work on the line" and a replacement bus service between Brighton and Three Bridges which usually adds an hour to my journey.

Pete move to Holmesdale Road.!!!!!!!!!!
You’ll be first home.!!!

I think the point was that the start of the Wright & Bright era was a lot more than 20 years ago...

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

I used to like it when the smell of smoke would waft over the crowd at evening games.

There's something about cold night air and cigarette smoke that is magical.

Of course, you're not allowed second hand smoke if you're a child any more.

They call that 'progress'.

Smoking hasn't done me any harm.

It's all those wretched stairs that make me breathless. And the emphysema.

I used to love and miss that smell as well. That mixed with the smell of the fresh cold wet turf was amazing.

It's all coming back to me now.

I remember, as a boy, the Bring Out Your Dead man would come along the road on his cart, and he'd give you half a crown for each cadaver. As kids we used to raid the old plague pit in South Norwood (corpsing, they used to call it) and sell them.

Half a crown would get you admission to The Nest (as it was called back in those days, which was odd because CPFC was officially nick-named the Glaziers)

With the change we used to buy bread dipped in gravy, a Jubberlee, a sherbert dip and a bottle of iodine to dress any infected wounds created in the process of the midnight grave robbing.

It was a different world back then.
