We must be due a claim on the injured players insurance?!

Use the monies to get him in.

We have discussed this before. The consensus is that Palace self insures as it’s cheaper.

Fair enough, that insurance would be fecking expensive! A little bit tongue in cheek from me initially. Surely not too expensive though?!

I guess ultimately it’s Parish who has the final say not Roy.

Also seems fair that SP gets credit for signings given he is the one that gets the stick when we don’t make any.

At no point should Parish ever get the final say on if a player is good enough or not. If the price or wages are too high then he is there to block the deal, but otherwise he should have nothing to do with it. We learnt this when Pulis and Allardyce left.

Otherwise, a good strong keeper who will be a stop gap for 6 months.

I agree. I never said he should choose the player or decide if the player is good enough or not, just that he has the final say if the deal goes ahead or not.

Seems very sensible to me, 35 is not retirement age for a keeper and if we don't get competent support and anything happens to Hennessey we're in deep s***.

Hopefully Hennessy sees us through and we can start again with keepers.

This guy doesn't sound ideal but it's better to just do it now and take up the 25th spot than fill it with a Nasri type signing and risk the league saying 'sorry Steve' when he begs them to allow an emergency loan.

It's amazing isn't it. Put us in a ridiculous situation, over two separate windows, and now we're supposed to credit him with having t be forced by his own ineptitude to looking in the Free Transfer (AKA players no one else employs, damaged goods, the unfit and semi-retired) for one of the most vital positions on the pitch.

Bravo.
