At the same stage last season we picked up 9 pts from our next 4 games. I really cannot see us emulating what we did last season in our next 4 games. I suspect after the next round of games the odds will differ and not be in our favour.

Edited by PalazioVecchio (14 Feb 2018 1.48pm) You (and many others to be fair) have embarrassed yourself there, the OP makes a valid point and you jump at him just because of who he is ...!! As it happens (and as I've said elsewhere) I agree with him, I suspect results won't go in our favour over the next 4 or 5 games and there's every chance of us dropping into the relegation zone. I then reckon we will start picking up points and will still get enough to avoid relegation. Edited by si_1967 (14 Feb 2018 2.43pm)

My concern is that we may have flirted with relegation once too often. This is the fifth season that we will no doubt be gnawing away at our finger nails as we approach the latter part of the season. Villa and Sunderland spring to mind as other sides who have recently dropped down after 2/3 seasons of close escapes. Our form will definitely have to improve if we are to stay up - we have looked unconvincing recently. We were rather lucky to beat Burnley, and even when we played well and dominated in the 2nd half against Newcastle we still couldn't score from open play. And then Everton last weekend ... I do fear that those first seven games without a point may well come back to bite us. I think we're going to get bitten by two last-second missed penalties, and our inability to put in five past Newcastle. That's six points.

Equally we only picked up 3 points from the last 5 games in the season and I can see us picking up more this season . So keep the faith COYP

Apologies accepted ! I am just very concerned about our results in the forthcoming games and our survival prospects.I have been through all the Ups and Downs since the 60s and really don't want another 'Down' ! Take care. Edited by Willo (14 Feb 2018 7.15pm)
