At the end of the day it’s down to the players on the pitch ,and the Saints having been selling there best ones year in year out.
However like us they can still save themselves.
Plus they can always turn to the magical “Black Box” in the Summer.

Absolutely, and in the end it catches up with you.

Just consider the Ex-Saints players in the Liverpool squad yesterday - Van Dijk,Lovren,Lallana,Mane,Oxlade-Chamberlain.They have also sold Wanyama,Walcott,Shaw,Schneiderlin, Chambers.

Similarly Brighton, they have a tough run in. We need to get 3 points off them at Selhurst, but other than that I can only see them picking up 7 more, which would give them 36. When all is said and done though, we need to focus on racking up our own points. As we have seen this weekend, you cannot rely on other teams.

Their problem recently hasn't been who they've signed or kept tabs on but rather not signing anyone in January. They're bringing in a lot of money and not using it.

Whoever chose Pellegrino should be demoted though.

Maybe you're right and I should prefer our previous method of very little or no scouting, just panic or hope someone lands on our laps, like some soon to retire striker, or just not signing hardly anyone now that we need now and in the summer anyway.

Didn’t they sign Carrillo ?
Of Our three signings only one has played.
Like all signings they need some time to settle.

Amazing they must be the richest club on the Coast.

Indeed they did.He cost around £19 Mill from Monaco and I think he is their record signing.

Only that he is a Target man who is useful in the air.
Southampton of course sold a similar player Pelle to a Chinese club.

Spent relatively little considering players sold. Fans going nuts it if any bounces back after relegation you'd expect them to. No guarantees of course.

Looking at the Koeman signings still at the club - 8 players with signings ranging from £4 Mill to £12 Mill.
Koeman signings who have left cost between £1 Mill and £11.5 Mill (Van Dijk)

In terms of Puel - 6 players with signings ranging from Free to £17 Mill.

So yes, relatively small amounts in PL terms.

Exactly. Although other teams's woes are always welcome, it would be far better if we were to pick up the points and not have to rely on other sides self-destructing - something we can't rely upon anyway e.g Huddersfield were on a slide but then turn over Bournemouth.

I get the impression this is what Parish relies on. I don't think he does enough to give the manager what he requires, put it that way.
