Is anyone else out there also bemused by the lack of tactical and substitutions in the match against Everton. Benteke is struggling with confidence and TFM is no centre half. We needed a shake up but stuck to the same method in the game that was not working. Not like Roy. Hence bemused. Thoughts anyone?

TFM IS a center half. One mistake doesn't make it otherwise

heh. Cant deny that i believe this season, from disasterous summer and two awful windows, and the fact that we're struggling again, is pretty much all down to Parish. It just is. However i dont dislike the bloke, at the end of the day he's a palace fan made good, just think that he's entirely culpable time and time again, yet never learns. It's frustrating, but hey. It's a Palace forum, and IMHO it's the root of our ills, so it's natural to bring it up.

Also it's pertinent to this subject, as i believe that Roy's somewhat stubborn (and possibly verging on the unprofessional) refusal to sub tiring players is detrimental to squad fitness, with an already threadbare squad.

Parish also happens to be the only chairman in our 113 year history to have kept us in the top flight for 5 consecutive seasons during his reign. That seems to be forgotten.

We don't have a god given right to be top half of the prem table - for most of us (i'm sure you too Stan) we have all experienced many seasons floundering in the depth of the second tear.

I'm sure Parish is as annoyed as rest of us but do we really need to keep blaming him mate.

Or how about taking off Benteke, moving Sorloth into the middle with Rakip on the right, put Townsend on the left?

We'd lost the game, save some leg and try things out.

Oh, and I don't think out best 11 was on the pitch because Sorloth isn't better than one or two on the bench at this stage of his career.

Yea I see your point ridewald might have made a difference if brought on or at least rested one of the midfielders and when the game was already lost brought on rakip to give him a run out. Good point .

oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton.

This is exactly right , with all our injury problems any substitution would have weakened the team. How on earth can this be interpreted as Roy is pissed off with Parish and the transfer dealings. Roy felt from all his managerial experience that there was no need for a change nothing more than that. You may not agree with his decision but don’t make things up about him. COYP

How many other forwards did we have available yesterday?

Substitutions to do what? The game was difficult after the first 4 minutes of the second half but it was not necessarily lost with over 40 still to go. Our best team was already out on the pitch and it might have been expected to show some fight back.

Can't argue with anything here. Nothing to lose when you are that far behind. Definitely would have tried out Rakip for Cabaye otherwise as a loan signing it is a waste of time (unless of course he is not fit, or not considered good enough) in which case its a bit worrying as to why we took him in the first place.

Fresh legs, new impotus, change of tactics to name a few. Game was likely over at 3-0 so could argue subs required for both arguments. Not sure what game Roy is playing but it can’t be good. Can’t fault Roy on many things but find the sub thing very odd.

Roy's lack of substitution awareness if baffling. He's run Cabaye into the ground, the bloke looks knackered after 60 mins, make some changes, liven it up a bit!

Parish, and his 3 co-owners before his two American co-owners, did that. The other chairmen (Jordan, Goldberg, Noades, Boyle, etc) were on their own with a board.

All this Parish is a god talk is utter rubbish. He is to blame for the mistakes.

Do you keep rewarding a kid for making one good decision that corrects two bad ones?

We have had how many poor transfer windows in a row? But Parish should get a pass. How many managers has be pi**ed off?

Yes, Parish has made some good decisions but they more often than not were made to correct a cock up.

3-1 down with 5 minutes to go... Yeah, you keep the players on who are knackered when you have fresher legs on the bench, who would be more effective.
