In the summer we'll have 13 or more (as things stand) players out of contract, including the 3 loan players. Granted, many of the players we'll be happy to see the back of but a man out, even Mutch, has to be replaced.

If we average out the cost of a new player to be just £5m then it will cost £65m to replace all 13 players with bang average replacements/players for the future.

We have a goalkeeper on a pre-contract who is a free and we can take Rakip for £10m. That's an average of £5m.

Given that we are notorious for being hard up we're either going to have to be lucky with free transfers or Freedman is going to have to pull something special out of the bag because we don't have the players in the academy who can step up.

Staying up (which I think we'll manage) will only be part of the struggle because of poor planning.

Not sure about your reasoning. Just because players are out of contract, doesn’t mean they will be released. Therefore the rest of your argument doesn’t stack up.

I agree I expect we will end up signing 5 to new deals.

We needed another 6+ players in the summer just gone and didn't get them so don't have much hope in going out and buying a load this summer.

Again we will get multi loans I expect 2 from Prem maybe some others from abroad.

SP doesn't really like to spend on multi players he would rather waste time and get one big signing which is why we are in trouble.

This clubs needs a rebuild and our current owners are the wrong guys to do that (getting in the Americans was wrong move and clearly a panic decision from SP)

We'll be looking for a new manager too i reckon. Parish has mugged off Roy in the transfer market. Having saved his reputation, i'll be amazed if he stays for more of the same.

3-4 contract renewals, the signing of Jach already replaces Delaney and 2 loans. That fills 6-7 spots. Then 3-6 summer signings with remainder covered from the academy.

Sorted.

I agree with your sentiment however they can already discuss deals with other clubs as they are under 6 months left of their contract.

The 3 loans end, Mutch, Lee, Delaney, Sako, Speroni could easily not be renewed. Cabaye won't stay.

That's 9. We have no choice if they leave or stay if they have no contract. Therefore we either buy, sign a free or play youth which we don't have in numbers.

Stacking up yet?

Grumpy Mart rather than just moan, could you not explain your reasoning.
For example why did we need another 6 players in the Summer ?
What’s multi loans ?
Why does the club need a rebuild?
Do you mean the ground or team or both.?

At the end of the day what Division we play in will determine the decisions taken by the club.
That 'Revolving door' will be very much in use if we are relegated.

Let's see how these 3 new players from Jan stack up. As others stated rather see 4 goodish additions than 13 makeweights like the Ollie days. Also it is the chicken and egg question again as none of the youngsters we have, have been tested, like most clubs around us as well. Be nice to see one club give it a go and if it works with a few others might follow suit. However with the demands of staying up cannot see the status quo changing.

(Caveat: if we stay up)
We have the keeper from Spain on pre-contract, we’ll need another one.

Jach replaces Delaney leaving us with 5 senior CBs.

Sako we should renew, as a good squad player. Cabaye would be a big miss and would really be hard to replace. If he does want to go to France, hopefully we know already and Doog can get looking.

Mutch & Lee, not really played this season so I’d suggest go for potential in their replacements. Obviously academy if good enough, if not I’d look abroad, Scandi seems to be Roy’s choice at the minute. Wan-Bissaka is the big hope of the academy, I believe he’s a full back.

I have no doubt we’ll loan 2 again from the prem to fill the remaining gaps. Hopefully more RLC/TFM and less Bumfluff & Remy.

So max 6, albeit that’s still plenty to do, but I don’t think we’ll be spending net £65m. And just to reiterate this picture will look a lot less rosy if we go down!
