For real? Parish, the man who has kept us up for a longer spell than any other chairman in our history, bringing through some of the most exciting players ever to grace the Selhurst pitch, all while taking us from being in massive debt to one of the richest clubs in the world, is doing a bad job? If Wilf and Speroni are out for the season, then that is massively unfortunate. We will have them two, Schlupp, RLC, Wickham, Dann and Sako out for the next 13 games. But firstly, I still think we've given ourselves a great chance of staying up, and credit should go to Parish for killing the FdB project early even at the expense of him looking a mug. Second, name one side outside the top 6 who wouldn't struggle with 7 first teamers out injured? Do you expect Parish to go out and sign 3 players for every position? If we go down it would be a massive shame. But we'd still be in an incredible position to bounce straight back. Some people on here seem to not remember where we've historically been.

There's no way you can give Parish credit for sacking FdB? He was the fool who employed him in the first place. Let's not get started as to why we needed to look for another manager in the summer, Sam certainly didn't leave to retire if you believe the rumors. If we go down we will stay down for a while, our squad is full of players on very high wages, those that aren't cherry picked will be offloaded to stop us going into debt.

Name one prem club that has less than 3 keepers with experience? Us? And thats after Roy repeating himself on the matter. We'll be in an incredible position to bounce back? Really? Like all those other smaller clubs that don't bounce back you mean.

The new wave of Palace fans wanting the club to be relegated to make a point to a chairman who is accused of maybe or maybe not trying to get players in. Absolutely ridiculous.

I think people making this point are doing so because the board will deserve it if we go down after leaving even more areas we'd be potentially vulnerable in. Or it'll make it plainly clear someone who leaves us without adequate cover in specialist positions such as keeper and striker not once but twice, shouldn't be in charge of matters that decide these calls or have the situation in that danger. No true fan wants or deserves it but they're stepping back and saying it as they'd see it from the outside. We've now not only had a dof come in respected for his scouting ability but also a respected manager repeating himself on what's necessary. People will argue that it's difficult to get striker cover in January. Well it is and even harder when you need to after the summer debacle.

With the greatest of respect I don't share your opinion about the mindset of our so called "New wave" supporters willing relegation for the reason you outlined. I am sure we all desperately do NOT wish this to be our fate and will be distraught if we plummet through that relegation trapdoor. Of course there will be recriminations should we get relegated and clearly Mr Parish will be firmly in the 'Firing Line'.Pray God we survive. Edited by Willo (06 Feb 2018 12.35pm)

I don’t take any pride in the fact that we seem to set records for being sh!t. I think we’re about to set another record for bare bones of a squad!
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

Not sure it's just a 'new wave,' of suppoters. I have had huge concerns over our transfer policy and our chairmans role in it for the last few windows. From comments made by selling clubs we have missed targets for the simple reason we leave things so late that the selling club has no time to source a replacement and the deal falters.
We needed a keeper and appears we signed one but with a delivery date worse than DFS. I wonder if we could invoke the emergency loan rules (assuming they exist in the Premier League.) Oh and new wave? Been in and around Selhurst for 40 years.

Oh and new wave? Been in and around Selhurst for 40 years. DFS. Ha ha ha. I think if you don't have a keeper with 5 apps in the division then you can loan a keeper in for 7 days. Don't know if you can keep extending. Probably can. Still not good but hopefully if Hennessy does get injured he has the decency to not get injured in a match and with several days before our next match after Speroni couldn't keep himself fit for 13 games. It was impossible he could get injured but he did. If it was impossible I don't know why we bothered looking at keepers at all.

Surely if this is true we have to use the available space immediately for a non contract keeper, on can we sign the new guy if we pay up his contract

If we go down and I now think we will, it won’t be the boards fault at all. It will simply be because it’s our time. We’re punching above our weight and have been for some time, all down to the fantastic work done by the board. The hammer was always going to fall at some point. We’ve been extremely unlucky with injuries. Something that really isn’t the boards fault. It will be a bitter pill to swallow due to the quality we now have at Selhurst. We may never see such quality again at the club. Again, this is all down to the boards fantastic work and we should be looking at that instead of berating them for something that was always going to happen at some point.
