We cannot afford to lose to any club below us so in that respect it's a BIG game. It will be a fascinating second half to the season but always better to be looking down at the competition than looking up at them.

I genuinely fear our run in will be hard. Looks great on paper, but against a number of relegation rivals I fear the pressure will be high and battle harder potentially than in previous years. That’s my gut feel.

Newcastle is a game where a win would seriously help morale. A goal from Benteke and a top performance from Cabaye and Hennessey would go a long way to boosting us all. Seeing Mama or Andros comes though 90 mins would be good soon too.

Seeing Mamadou on the pitch would be a start!

If I had a quid for every time someone said "this game is the biggest game of the season" this season, I would have at least a tenner.

Not if you are David Wagner it isn’t. He said something like, it is good to be in the relegation zone because at least you can worry about what is ahead of you, rather than looking over your shoulder. It was a quite remarkable quote from a man who knows that he is in trouble. He would have been pilloried on here if he was our manager.

we'll thrash toon, i'm on my annual away day next week where we will humiliate everton, some of our top class crocks will come back, the new boys will prove a revelation (a fully fit squad will now be pretty awesome if the newbies are up to scratch) - at some point tekkers, wikkers and sollers will be vying for one or two places up front, we'll finish top half, and after loan replacements/arrangements have been sorted over the summer we'll do a Burnley next season as a curtain raiser to our magnificent new stand which will attract better players bring in more revenue, trophies and Europe here we come. the only way is up - starting with the demolition of those under-performing under-funded underachievers who oppose us today

In the end the hard reality is that we need 14 points from 13 games.
If we can take the points from our rivals so much the better.
Equally we should not rely on getting them from the top six.
It really is that straightforward but as we all know, we don't tend to do things the easy way.

It is a big one for sure, a win and we are 9 points away from the Baggies and up to 11th. Gutted that Brighton won yesterday, trust West Ham to roll over twice against them.

Home advantage wins the day. Wouldn’t fancy us today if we were on route to St. James’s, Don’t think Newcastle will fancy themselves coming to selhurst . Home win, same scoreline. Relax ,we’re decent.

In fairness two thirds of the league are our relegation rivals. This is a huge game, but they all are.
