It's not a lack of common sense. An over reaction is definitely the lesser of two evils but clearly both are best avoided if possible. The information that’s been released so far makes it seem innocent. If it’s a personal vendetta behind it, as suggested by some outlets, I hope there are significant repercussions for the relevant individual. On the flip side if he or she heard something that they were genuinely concerned about but have misread the situation then I’m very glad that procedures are being followed as they are and business can return to normal for everyone as soon as possible if nothing untoward has happened.

One of our secondary school teachers also gave us squash lessons after school, and always showered with us in a communal shower room. This was only in the 90's. Ii wouldn't do it, but it's crazy how attitudes about what is and isn't acceptable change so quickly. That was in the 90's and was probably inappriate behaviour then for a teacher. To even contemplate doing that now is madness.

Whatever happened to 'common sense'? Common sense would say you have to be safe rather than sorry when it comes to safe guarding kids. Hope he gets cleared, but sounds like the club are doing the right thing by looking in to it.

Everybody who taught PE in the 60s/70s/80s must be in mortal fear of a knock on the door. I f*cking despair for the future of this country.

Poor bloke had two, both of which could produce questions, options. From what I have read he did the natural thing, got undressed, showered, and dressed in his post training kit with the whole group. The other option - probably harder to explain - would be to state that as they were big boys he did not feel able to do his normal post training activity(possibly leading an individual to suspect undue interest). I recall that when I joined a new employer in the mid 80s, I was invited to a physical activity. While changing back into outdoor clothes I was aware that the ladies (just me and them) had the comfort of safety in numbers and wore very varied underwear. Hope all is well resolved for him.

Difficult to comment on this either way while investigations are ongoing but better safe than sorry. Hope it turns out to be nothing. No point in saying PC gone mad, or pointing fingers until

And not entirely for the better
